Went to the gym this morning and did 25 min on the eliptical and 20 minutes of abs!  I had a vet appt I had to get to.  I plan on taking a nice long walk next to the canal later today. What have you done to move your body this weekend? Lori

Good Morning Lori! I cannot post to yesterday's gym post, so I'll do that here as well, and count it a long weekend!  I did 2 hours of water aerobics yesterday - morning and evening, and 1 hour this morning.  We are off and running to help parents this morning with different issues, then off to a St. Patty's Party this afternoon.  I'm wondering if I will be able to do some corned beef.  I'm going ot take some of my own food just in case. Have a great weekend!

Jennie, You may be able to eat a tiny bit of corned beef.  Make sure it is not dry!  Have fun!!! Lori

Heck, when was the last time I posted regarding exercise?  Feels like days! I've done the same workout the past few days -- six minutes of treadmill, 20 minutes of armbike programmed to simulate hills and valleys, and 10 minutes of reverse armbike as a cool down. I did this on Thursday, Friday, and today.  Will do it tomorrow, too, unless my sore throat is worse.  Even with that, I'll probably go exercise.  My sibling won't go without me. As for the corned beef and cabbage, I think I'll forego it this year.  I love it, but even pre-surgery, I'd eat it and enjoy it a lot, but it was hard to digest.  We're having dungeness crab cakes from Whole Foods for dinner tonight.  Yum!  I love their crab cakes, and also their salmon burgers with spinach and feta cheese mixed in with the salmon.  Very satisfying and sustaining! Hi Lori, Well, Friday was my last day at work, so my plan was to just do whatever I wanted to and relax this weekend, sleep in. So I did yesterday but today I woke up early and decided to go to the gym. I had a great workout. 25 min. treadmill 32 min. elliptical 12 min. treadmill WT on arms, shoulders and abs And for the first time since I was in middle school I actually jogged. It was only for 2 mins at a time (total of 4 min) during my second round on the treadmill, but it was still an accomplishment.

Jacie, It sure is an accomplishment.  You are doing great!  When I try jogging I fill everything jiggle so much I feel self conscious! Your last day at work, what does that mean? Lori

Oh I hear ya about the jiggle. The first time I jogged there was no one on the ellipticals behind me, and all I could think was thank goodness because my butt felt like it was going up and down a good 6 inches on each step, hahaha. The second time there was someone back there but I decided I didn't care. I admit that I jogged in front of a mirror when I got home to check out how bad it looked and it was fine. As for the job, well, I quit. I was so miserable there, I really was doing no favors to myself staying there. So now I'm going to enjoy California for a while then I plan on moving back home to Minneapolis in a little over a month. I'm pretty excited, but I'm nervous too because I have my eating routine and I'm pretty solitary here, now I'll have all my friends and family around, it might be a challenge at times!!

Jacie, You will have challenges moving home, but, just keep remembering how great it feels to be fit and to no longer be super morbidly obese.  I'm so proud of you and your commitment to exercise!  We'll still be here to support you too! Hugs, Lori
