Did You Know I'm a Bully?

I recently posted a reply on the Colorado Board in response to a woman who'd had a nasty experience at the hospital during her banding surgery.    Other pre-ops were concerned about having bad experiences in the hospital, so I mentioned that each hospital has a Patient Rep or Patient Advocate who can help people resolve issues while they are in the hospital.  I said any time you have a problem, call the Patient Advocate ASAP. I thought it was useful advice, but the woman in question decided I was attacking her, got her panties wadded up into an atomic wedgie, and posted a broiling message to me, calling me a BULLY! Hm, I've never been a bully before!  I'm usually so Type B that I can't work up the energy to bully anyone.  Maybe this is part of the "new me," or perhaps they filled her band too tight?  Kix

I couldn't believe it when I read her response! I had read your original post and thought nothing of it, seemed like good, sensible advice. Of course, I know how wonderful you are so I couldn't even imagine it being done in judgement of her. Weird lady - I responded to her as well. Of course, she is probably the type of person who will never 'get it' and will always get angry at everyone around her. But I had to try! That's why I love our board here - I think we all give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

Ah,heck, PJ, thanks for saying those nice things about me!  It was so funny, I received her flaming email and had to go back to see what in the heck she was talking about, it had been so long since I posted my suggestion.   I'm thinking about my new "bully" persona -- it might come in handy if my preferred treadmill is occupied when I go to the rec center tonight!  Kix (isn't it a pretty day today!)

You could never be a bully, just too sweet Today is gorgeous, although I have missed all the gorgeous days with this flu. I should go outside and just sit in the sun but right now I'm laying in bed in my gown and I'm not sure if I want to get dressed! I think i will skip flashing all my neighbors Although I would be fun to show off my new, hot legs!

Sometimes these boards just amaze me. Who knows what she's getting her panties in a bunch over. How on earth can she perceive your post as bullying?? Crazy.

This is my first visit to this board, but curiosity got the better of me and I had to check it out...what the heck???  As a newbie, I probably should keep my mouth shut, but I'm still trying to figure out exactly what the problem was with your post...I didn't see it.  I guess you could call me an objective bystander :D  I am having surgery on April 9th and I printed out your advice and put it in my little surgery binder to carry with me.  I'm glad I found it, I wouldn't have known who to call...the atomic wedgie comment has left me with a disturbing image, though Tara

Welcome, Tara!  Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!  I strongly considered the DS, but my HMO only does RNY and lapband, and self-pay was not an option for me. I hope you have an uneventful surgery and absolutely no reason to need the Patient Advocate during your hospital stay!  Do let us know how your surgery goes and we'll make room for you on the Losers' Bench.  Kix
