Gym is Open (Saturday)
I'll open the gym today.
It's cold and rainy here in metro Denver today, BRR! I still felt a bit wonky this morning from my broccoli attack last night, so I decided not to exercise today. I did accompany my sibling to the rec center, and I read some old "Readers Digest" magazines and sipped water with potassium powder in it while she did her treadmill work.
I'm starting to feel better, so I expect to resume exercising tomorrow.
What did you do to move your body today?

I'm a day late in my reply, but I just want to say that I started going to a gym this Jan although I had my first RNY on 11-16-2000 and my second one (due to staple line disruption in the first one) on 01-21-2005. I could barely walk prior to surgery as I was up to 571, but I continued to have knee pain even following surgery. I bought a Gazelle to use after surgery, but I still felt the pain in my legs. I can't use an exercise bike because I can't get on it. This Jan my shrink suggested that I start aquasize. I found a local gym that has a therapy pool in addition to its regular pool. And, they both have steps leading into them. I used the therapy pool because it has shorter steps and dual handrails. The water in that pool is kept between 90 and 92. I had been going every other day, but starting this past week I started going every day from M-Sat. On Mon, Wed, and Fri I do exercises on my legs and on Tues, Th, and Sat I work on my arms and upper body. I rest on Sun. I may adjust this in the future but it's working for now. I'm using muscles I didn't know I had. Unfortunately, it's not doing anything to relieve the knee pain. But, getting the exercise elevates my mood so much that I'm not going to stop. Also, once I put in 120 workouts, my HMO will reimburse me $150. I only found that out after I joined. People should review their health ins brochures to see if they pay an incentive for joing a gym.
