Gym Is Open (Monday)
I got woke up this morning by one of my gym mates calling me at 4:40 am saying, "Come on, lets go get skinny." About half way through my workout I walked up to her and asked her "Am I skinny yet?"
I did 45 mins on the treadmill after doing 25 mins of intense abs and back and lower body strength training. I have a 1.5 mile round trip walk to the post office planned for my lunch hour...then I'll have my 5 miles in for today!
What did you do to move your body today?
Lori
We went to the rec center when my sibling came home from work. I changed up my routine a bit, doing 15 minutes on the treadmill (not all at once -- I did 11 minutes at the beginning, and them 4 minutes at the end of my workout) and 15 minutes on the armbike.
The rec center was quite crowded today. I guess everyone is back from spring break. One of the senior women who attends the cancer survivors' fitness class came up to say HI. She was leaving as I was getting started. We had a nice chat last week while working on the treadmills and it was nice she remembered me. She did two miles on the treadmill today -- I will be happy when I can do two miles on the treadmill.
I don't know if I should go for time, or speed, on the treadmill. Is it better to walk longer periods at a slower pace, or should I crank up the speed a bit and walk less? The highest speed I currently use is 2 mph. I don't start out at 2, I move up in increments during my walk.

Hi Kix, you will be up to 2 miles before you know it! I don't know if you ought to go for speed or distance. Do what is best for your body - whatever your legs can better handle right now and build up over time to more speed and/or distance.
Jesus is so good to me; I couldn't ask for a better friend, protector, leader, savior!
