different eatting changes

The past few weeks I have noticed I have a low tolerance for meats of any kind including some chicken. When I fix dinner I always include some kind of meat mostly for my hubby who is a meat cutter by trade and he loves meat with dinner. I have found I will try to eat a few bits of the meat but just dont enjoy it that much I prefere the other stuff like veggies, rice, fruit that kind of thing and am much happier not eatting the meat. Hubby thinks I am going through a mental phase before surgery. In any case I have thought about this and relized look how many calories I am saving by not eatting the meat. I dearly love seafood. Has this happend to anyone before surgery?                                                            Annie

I've always been a devout carnivore.  Since surgery, I find that I crave meat more than I do veggies.  As for fruit, I can take it or leave it.  I'm glad I can tolerate most meat, although I gobbled my little serving of steak too fast the other night and promptly horked up the last two bites of it.  My tummy still feels a bit bruised because it came up quite forcefully (I don't usually hork, I just suffer). I mostly eat beef, dark portions of chicken, and fish.  Sometimes I'll eat pork, but it doesn't sing to me the way beef does.  What can I say, I'm a weirdo! Kix

This meat thing with me Kix is a new thing I have also been a devout carnivore and being married to the butcher LOL So between him and the bulldogs the meat I dont eat wont go to waste.                                                   Annie PS I was spoon fed seafood as a child was raised on the stuff so I have a passion for it that goes way back

i was always a serious meat eater prior to surgery. now, i eat fish and chicken, but very rarely do i eat beef anymore. i read on the boards that a lot of people seem to have trouble with chicken, but i never have. for the first 8-9 months following surgery, i had one of those little cans of chicken for lunch every day, and never had any problems with it. i have issues with eating beef unless it is so tender i can cut it with a fork! deb

I still love my steak - medium rare, with A-1 on the side please.  Other than that I could live without meat. I used to eat it all the time before WLS, but now I just don't care for it as much. Chicken is still a hit or miss thing for me, as is salmon (which I love).
