Hi Kellie, I did 40 minutes on the treadmill (burned 322 calories woohoo) and 15 minutes on the bike. I did some different machines for 10 minutes and sat in the sauna for 15 minutes. Take care. Diana

I've got to say, I am loving not working, I can workout all the time! And now that I have only one class left this summer my schedule has been so much more open. I dread finding a job and having to actually work 9-5 - ugh. This morning I did 22 minutes on the elliptical then tried to figure out our weight machines. I thought about hiring a trainer but don't really want to spend the money, so I followed a workout buddy and he showed me how to use the machines. I'm trying to do a training schedule to get ready to hike my 14'er in August (that's a mountain over 14,000 feet for you flatlanders ) and part of that is adding weights, so today was my first step towards that. I hope it helps, I have a feeling that hike just might be the death of me! Then this afternoon I decided to leave behind sweltering Denver (it was 101 when I left my house!) and went for a hike at my favorite place. (this is also part of my training - to do 2-3 hikes a week) It is usually 20 degrees cooler than Denver and has lots of trees for shade, and I got in 5 miles. As I was heading down it started to rain, then thunder, then lightning. And I was holding 2 metal hiking poles! I threw the poles against a tree, hiked ahead about 100 feet and crouched down next to a rock. I had to stay that way for 15 minutes and by the time I got up my legs were screaming at me. But, I had fun!! and got a good workout.

As I was heading down it started to rain, then thunder, then lightning. And I was holding 2 metal hiking poles! Guess I'd better start paying closer attention to 9News to see if there are any stories about fried redheaded persons being airlifted down the mountain!  Was it really 101 today?  It felt hot, but I must be tolerating the heat a lot better than I used to.  I was hot, but not suffering, and I don't even use the air conditioning in the car.   The farthest I got away from town today was Arvada, which is nothing to write home about!    All the CDOT crews and their $&%*# road repairs on my side of town (Hwy 6, Hwy 58) really make me crazy.  The worst part is on 6 over by the Taj Mahal in Golden -- they are funneling all the traffic into a single lane, which means traffic moves 2 cm every 20 minutes.   Kix

If I did get hit at least my hair would stay the same color   Luckily I just bought the Search and Rescue Card - it pays for airlifts, etc. I was a bit worried I might have to use it sooner than I though! Can you believe it was that hot? It doesn't bother me like it use to but I still hate it. It's really bad on campus, right downtown and in the midst of all that asphalt - I swear it's 10 degrees hotter than anywhere else. I can't believe you don't use air conditioning, that would seriously kill me!
