(Thursday) What are you doing RIGHT today?

I'll get things started again for the things I have done or will do right today!   1.  I made a food plan and I will stick to it.   2.  I packed the foods I needed to stick to my plan. 3.  I will do a 40-50 minute cardio session during my lunch hour. 4.  I will take the stairs instead of the elevator.   5.  Instead of sending e-mails to my co-workers, I will walk to their office and talk face-to-face. 6.  I will embrace my health and fitness, and work on not focusing so much on the numbers on the scale.   What are you doing RIGHT today??? Oops just put on the other thread.  I love what you've put here!!!!!!!!!!  Well yesterday talking to ya'll really refreshed me...  So, I decided to try the Pouch test...and figured today is just as good as any as I can do protein shakes at work for Thur/Fri and then go to the solids over the weekend.   I already have my protein powders at work in containers and my boss (YAY!) took my idea and got rid of the candy dish and is bringing in fruit a few days a week..so I grabbed me an orange out of there... I know I'll need that cuz I have low blood sugar...which was easily maintained b4 on mostly shakes but since I've been eating wrong lately... I don't want to take a chance.  I plan to do the protein shakes every 2 hours if I need.  I woke up and drank 12 oz of water immediately... and b4 I left the house drank a protein shake.   Got to work and am drinking water and a small  cup of coffee... I use to drink decaf everything but when I got off the appetite supplements I went to caffeine..though a small amount ...I'd love to get off it again.  I also agree w/ everyone and I am not going to beat myself up over my weight gain as it will serve no purpose, but look forward to getting back on track, or atleast the attempt to...which is better than not trying at all.  I am not sure about exercise today as I have to go to Open House tonight at my child's school.. and it's too hot to do anything outside...but I do have one of those big balls at home I've been wanting to try. And I always do my vitamins...one of the few things I don't forget... good luck and good day everyone!

Started the day off by waking at 5:00am and went walked 2 miles with my DH.  Got home prepared my food for the day. Protein bar for breakfast. Lean Cuisuin for lunch. Snack, a few banana chips. I will walk for 15 minutes at lunch. Tonite I plan on riding my stationary bike for 30 minutes. I will also walk to my coworkers office, instead of calling. That is what I am doing RIGHT today... Thanks for the inspiration Kellie!!  This morning I was running a bit early for work, so the old demons were playing with my head.... "Stop to Dunkin Donuts..get a bagel with cream cheese...awww go ahead, you're not on the liquid diet yet, indulge!!"  I was so tempted!!  But......I thought to myself...Bull Sh---...I am in charge!!  I will learn the art of talking those demons down! I went straight to work with no detours. LOL  I feel good about that!

I brought in healthy snacks to work with me like jerky, fruit, carrots, for when I need to feed the urge to eat ...it comes back during those bored moments I'm finding! I also always pick up a bottle of water first and make myself drink it before I think I should eat something, and then I wait 15 minutes before after drinking to eat, most of the time I'm finding I'm not hungry at all.

Hi Jan!  Funny thing is , I already had my breakfast (cereal) and my lunch (soup) with me.  Sometimes I get the urge to hit the fast food places, even though I rarely frequent them.  I swear its like a demon in my head tempting me, trying to see which of us will win!  Fortunately, I love drinking water. It truly is my beverage of choice.  Right now, my primary doctor has me on a twice a day injection (within 1 hr of lunch and dinner) called Byetta.  Its supposed to help my blood sugar numbers and reduce appetite as well.  Man....it makes me feel sort of nauseated so I sure am reducing my intake!!  Around Oct 1st I have to begin my 6 weeks of Medifast before surgery.  This truly is a journey!!!   Congrats on your success and here's to reaching your goal!!

What did I do right today? 1.  I started my five day pouch test (I did well most of the day, but I felt a bit wonky around 7 PM, so I substituted an Atkins protein bar for one of the protein drinks).  2.  I exercised vigorously several times today. 3.  I ran all my errands even though I didn't want to. 4.  I agreed to be interviewed by my surgeon's office for their next newsletter even though it's hard sometimes to talk about how fat I used to be (feeling shame, and we don't do shame in this forum!) 5.  I answered the aquacise teacher's questions about my weight loss, and suppressed the urge to drown her when she said she considered WLS but didn't want to deal with all the hanging skin that occurs after WLS.  [Emily Litella}    *****!    [ / Emily Litella] Kix

Yer crackin me up here woman!!  LOLOLOL  As for Dunkin Donuts...go ahead and go there as long as you only get an iced coffee or tea with Equal only. I am so glad I didn't consume the sugar & grease. Just thinking of it now make me queasy.   About your former "shame".....the only shame you should feel is if you let it continue and you didn't!!  Obviously you are being interviewed due to your success. Give yourself the right to be proud...you earned it.  The ***** in the aquacise obviously is an idiot to let a little extra skin keep her from being healthy.  Kudo's to you kiddo....people like you HELP people like me.  THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
