I'm filling in for Marge again this week.  Today is her auspicious day!  Marge will be having her panni removed and her mons (lower girl parts) lifted back to where it belongs!  Let's all think good thoughts today so Marge will have an uneventful surgery and quick recovery.  I'm opening the scales early again so the East Coast folks don't have to wait for me to log in tomorrow.  I won't post my own weight until Monday evening because I have my monthly WLS support group and I'd like to post an "official" weight. What does everyone have planned for the upcoming week?  I will be going to the Colorado State Fair on Wednesday down in Pueblo (about two hours' south of Denver).   On Thursday, I will be going to my bariatric surgeon's office to be interviewed for their newsletter.  Not sure how I like being a "celebrity," but if it offers hope to other SMO folks, I am more than willing to share my story.    Anyway, don't be shy!  Climb up on those scales!   Kix

OK call me dumb...but what the heck is a Panni????  Does insurance cover lifting the girl part??  I lost a whopping 1/2 pound this week, but I can feel my appetite waning, so thats a good thing!  Good NEWS...I have an official surgery date of November 13th!!  I start the Medifast liquid diet on October 1st. I have several appointments all on the same day starting at 8am thru 2pm on September 18th and then my psych eval and mammogram on 9/24.  So far my colonoscopy is scheduled for 11/7 but they want me to try and get that sooner, so I will make calls today.  Good luck with your interview Kix!

A panni is short for panniculus, which is the fancy name for the lower part of the stomach that hangs down to your knees once you lose weight!     Congrats on your surgery date!  Don't forget to get those DaVinci or Torani sugar-free coffee syrups (you can buy them either online or in larger grocery stores or wherever they sell coffee flavoring syrups in your community).  It sure helps dress up those Medifast/Optifast shakes. Thanks for the good wishes regarding my interview.  I hope I don't come across like a pompous azz. Kix

Thanks for the explanation.  Does insurance pay for that type of surgery?  I will keep good thoughts for Marge.  You couldn't sound like a pompous azz....306 pounds makes you the envy of thousands! Enjoy the aura of your success and never ever think its not a big deal ...cuz it is!!!!!!!!!

When you talk to Marge, let her know that I am wishing her an uneventful and successful surgery and to please take pictures. I KNOW I am going to need PS. I am 120 lbs down and my thighs and stomach look like chewed up Jello.   I've loss 3 lbs this week. I have eliminated my snacking at work and that seems to help get the scale moving again.  BEGINNING WEIGHT-362(01/13/07 Pre-op consult) SURGERY WEIGHT-357(01/19/07-the day released from hospital) LAST WEEK-245 THIS WEEK-242

Chewed up Jello?  I haven't heard that one before!  My sister and I go to aquacise together twice a week.  The other night, we were getting dressed after class and she said, "You put your underwear on backwards."  I told her I had to, since my hanging stomach has turned into a front butt and if I don't turn the underwear around, my girl bits fall out of the leg holes.      Nothing like announcing THAT to the world!   Congrats on being down 3 lbs, that makes you 3 lbs closer to goal! Kix
