I didn't really like the results this week, but figured I had better be honest and just get it out of the way. Surgery Weight: 371 Last week's weight: 180 This week's weight: 181 I'm really not too sure why I gained a pound, but my period should start this week, so I think that is part of it. I did lose inches again this month, so that makes up for it. I was so exhausted this morning that I actually skipped my class - I spent the weekend with my folks, got home and found my apartment completely flooded (again! This is the 3rd time in 6 months) so I spent the night cleaning. I'm just in that 'tired to the bone' phase - dad is doing better but I don't know how much that means. It's a day to day thing. And Kix, my job is, get this, at the place that laid me off! they had a part-time receptionist job open that would work around my school schedule and paid pretty well, so I asked them if I could have it.  Sure enough, here I am It's nice to be back, despite all the stuff that happened. I always liked the people here. Back to work!

OK, did you explain to your landlord that you are not the Little Mermaid and thus you need a dry habitat?  What a hassle!  As if you don't have enough going on right now. My sister and I went to a used children's clothing sale at the Douglas County Fairgrounds last Saturday.  I usually pay attention when she drives because her sense of direction is poor, but she has been to these sales before, so I figured she knew how to get there.  We were driving down I-25 and chatting, and it suddenly dawned on me that I could see the Air Force football field!  I turned to my sister and said, "Isn't this sale in Douglas County?"  She said yes.  I replied, "Then why are we in the Springs?"  Good thing I spoke up, or we might have gone all the way to Trinidad before she noticed something was amiss.    We had to turn around and high tail it back to Castle Rock. Glad to hear your dad is doing better, even if it's in small increments. Your new job cracks me up!  At least you don't have too hard a learning curve and all, especially with school and dad!  Score one for PJ! Kix

Hi again Kix, I mostly stayed the same this whole wee****il this morning - and I was surprised to see that the scale moved!  YAY Here are my numbers for today: Surgery Referral Weight 368 Feb. 8, 2006 Kaiser Options Class Wt.  375  June 14, 2006 Consult Weight: 351 December 7, 2006 Surgery Weight - 344 Jan. 31, 07 Last Week: 234.6 Today: 233 I'm glad that you are sharing your story -- what an inspiration you will be to others needing this surgery.  Think of how far you've come this year!  I know that it is hard to share something that is personal like this journey and the emotions that come with it.  Be encouraged at the thought of how many you are encouraging to get control of their weight. I have a bunch of things to do for our school's upcoming parent night (tomorrow night) - I run a school for people who homeschool their children in California.  I am hoping to leave after my swim lessons on Thursday and go to the San Diego Wild Animal Park for the afternoon/evening and Friday night, we are going with friends to ComedySportz in LA.  This is an interactive improv group that does comedy like a sport.  It is kind of like Who's Line Is It Anyway.  Very fun! Have a great week!

Jennie, I lived in L.A. many years ago, and when I read your plans for the weekend, the first thing that popped into my mind was all the traffic you must hit from Ontario to San Diego and into town. My car radio was permanently tuned to KNX when I lived there!  Well, I also listened to Robert W. Morgan when I couldn't stand the traffic report any longer.  ("Good Morgan!").  Thanks for the kind words about my interview.  Those of us who have been quite fat have grappled with the shame of being quite fat, and sometimes it's hard to get past those feelings when sharing one's story with others.  But, you have to put yourself out there, just like you do by teaching your aqua fit classes.  I admire your ability to teach the exercise classes, I think I'd be too self-conscious to make it work. Have a great time on your excursions this coming week, and don't wear yourself out first with all those chores.   Kix
