Hi guys, I'm dealing with my IBS today and haven't made it to the gym or work.  Hope to feel better later to do both. What did you do to move your body today? Lori

All I wanted to do is sleep, but I dragged my butt in and did: 15 mins elliptical 30 min lower body weight training 15 mins elliptical and I just hate it when I spend the whole time on the elliptical trying to talk myself out of doing it... LMAO

I did 50 minutes on the elliptical trainer at lunch time.  I skipped my cardio workout yesterday, but it felt really good today.  Must have needed a day off!   Good luck to everyone finding the time and motivation to move today :-) Kellie

Hi, Lori! Would acidophilus supplements help with your IBS?  I notice since I started using them to keep from getting CDiff due to my daily Keflex regimen, I have not had one bout of colitis, and I used to get colitis often. What did I do to move my body today? 1.  I went to see my PCP for a female exam today.  I haven't had one of those in 20 years, so it was nice to finally be able to get one.  My knees had a hard time bending far enough to scoot all the way to the end of the table, though.    Guys are lucky, when they get a prostate exam, all they have to do is drop their pants and bend over.    Anyway, I had to do the two minute mile from the parking lot to the clinic -- not sure why the parking lot was jammed full, the clinic itself wasn't busy and they don't share parking with anyone else. 2.  I went to the rec center and did 30 minutes of in-line skating machine, 20 minutes of arm and torso weight machines, and 10 minutes of treadmill.  I cranked the treadmill up to a good clip, and I enjoyed it, but now my knees are stiff.  Evil old bag who tried to bully me off the in-line machine last time was there again today, circling me like a buzzard waiting to eat leftovers, but she was not paying attention when I actually finished my workout and someone else hopped on and began doing a LONG workout.  Too bad for her!   3.  I went to the grocery store and walked around the store while shopping for an item that it turns out they were sold out of, darn it. 4.  We went to aquacise last night, but the class wasn't much fun at all.  I think the teacher was having an off night. 5.  I get to do laundry today, so I'll be climbing up and down the stairs several times. Feel better soon! Kix

Wow you guys put me to shame! I am one month out, I am walking 30-45 daily and 3 x a week I do Resistance bands.  I also do a "homemade" aerobic routine. I cannot go to the gym right now due to schedule problems with my DH ( I have two kids at home) But I hope to join Curves soon.

Dolly, don't feel ashamed at all!  You are walking every day and doing exercises at home.  I couldn't go to a gym for awhile even as a post-op because I had mobility issues, so I did armbike exercising at home with a tabletop armbike. The important thing is daily exercise -- there's no rule that says you won't lose weight if you don't go to a gym or rec center! Kix

I am 1 month out (yesterday) and in honor of that I walked for 20 minutes this morning and 20 this evening.  That's the best I've done since the second surgery.

Hi Lori, Sorry to hear that you are having a flare up of symptoms.  My mom has IBS, and she will have really bad days. I went to water aerobics, both morning and evening.  I taught this morning, and it was good.  Lots of good comments, which are helpful to me as a beginning instructor. Hope you are feeling better soon!
