I did two hikes this weekend.  Fall is by far my favorite time of year as I love the cooler temperatures.  Today, I'm going to the gym directly after work, I forgot to set my alarm this morning so missed my early morning workout. What did you do to move your body today? Lori

Hi, Lori.  I love fall too - especially when folks start burning fires in their fireplaces - the smell of woodsmoke is just delightful.  Plus I love to bake and fall is great for that - apples, pumpkins, etc.  And luckily I can bring bakery to my office and share it, so I don't eat it all myself!   I'm heading to the gym now to lift weights for upper and lower body.  Will head back to the gym after work for a cardio session.   Good luck to everyone finding the time and motivation to move it today! I got a late start this morning and didn't get to the rec center until 10 AM.  I managed to do 35 minutes of in-line skating (switching between levels 1 and 2), 10 minutes of weights on the arms and torso (30 reps @ 70 lbs).  I wanted to do leg weight machines today, but the rec center was packed and people were lined up to use them, so I did 5 minutes of cross training machine. I think the cross training machine will be a good way to boost my cardio even further.  I notice after 5 minutes on that thing, I'm plum tuckered out. It's definitely fall-like in CO today -- I'm wearing two shirts and a heavy pair of sweats because I haven't bought a coat yet.  I undergrew my old coat, and donated it back in June.  I'm not complaining about the weather, though, I don't mind cooler weather.  It's raining, though, so I can't take full advantage of it by walking the dogs around the park lake near my house.  The shih-tzu refuses to go outside in the rain. I hear ya on loving fall - this is my favorite time of year, especially for hiking. Ironically, I get only one weekend to hike in September, all my weekends are booked! I'm hoping the snow will stay away until the end of October and I can do some hiking then. How did the date go? I admire you for stepping out there and doing that! I've thought about doing dating online but haven't had the nerve yet. I did my interval training today - 20 minutes on the treadmill and 25 minutes on the elliptical. I've begun running on the treadmill and I am noticing that I am going faster than before, so I guess it is paying off! I do plan on doing a 10k in May of next year so I am already thinking ahead to doing some training for that. I never, in a million years, thought I could run!
