Greetings!  I hope everyone is having an active day! I went to the rec center this morning and did 30 minutes of interval training on the in-line skating machine (5 minutes @ level 1, then 2 minutes at level 8 -- repeat for 30+ minutes). I also did 5 minutes of ab work.  I alternate my weight training, so I'm not due to do the weight machines again until tomorrow.  I like to do the ab work every day, though. I should mention that we went to aquacise last night, but the teacher was having an off night, so I didn't enjoy it as much as usual.  We need a peppier teacher. What did you do to move your body today? Kix

I walked for 20 minutes this morning, and I am going to try the recumbent bike again this evening - so far every time I've tried I've gotten seasick, but its been a week or so since I tried.  I want to use the bike because its sooo darned hot out!

Good job with the walking, Dunny!   I have tried the recumbent bike several times, and I just can't bend my knees far enough to be able to use it.  Same with the regular exercise bike.  Kix

Hi, Kix!  Thanks for picking up the mantle of gym opener - I appreciate your catching the torch that Lori was passing along.   Kudos on doing some interval workouts - they always kick my butt!  But they are supposed to be excellent for improving overall fitness and cardiovascular health.  So you go girl!  As for me, I lifted weights for upper and lower body at lunch (took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete a full circuit).  I'll head back to the gym after work for 40-50 minutes of cardio.   Good luck to everyone finding the time and motivation to move today!   Kellie

Thanks for the kudos, Kellie, and also thanks for not noticing that I posted in the header that it was Tuesday when it was actually Wednesday!  Oy! I can see myself getting hooked on the interval training.  I kind of like the feeling of pushing myself almost to the limit, and then backing off.  Of course, my leg muscles aren't too fond of it! I admire all the exercise you do on a daily basis!  You are a fine role model for the rest of us.  Kix

Hi Kix, Thanks for opening the gym today.  I taught 3 hours of swim lessons, so that was 3 hours of swimming, walking or jogging in the pool, and I stayed for about 30 minutes of the water aerobics class.  I was so cold that I had to leave!  Our pool is kept at 86ish degrees, but after 3 + hours and the air temp being down to 69, I was having a hard time staying warm!

Three hours in the pool?  You are going to sprout gills! Our rec center has closed its outdoor pool for the season, but that's okay, they still keep the indoor pool plenty cold.  I was watching the power aqua class yesterday and it looked like great fun, but I'm going to have to toughen my hide a bit before I go back into their freezing pool!    In the meantime, I'm stuck at the warm water pool with the unimaginative aquacise teacher. Hey!  Why don't you come teach up here?  Kix

Diana, I must have been confused, too!    I looked at the postings this morning and thought, "Why on Earth did I say yesterday was Tuesday?"  Maybe it was the "pressure" of taking over the fine job Lori did running the gym ! No sauna yesterday?  I use the dry sauna at the rec center two days per week after aquacise, and I am surprised that it is so relaxing.  Before I had WLS, I couldn't tolerate any kind of heat at all. Hug your little guy for me! Kix

Hi Kix, LOL I was up feeding Cody in the middle of the night and remembered I didn't post my gym. I got in the sauna for only about five minutes. I got a late start cause work was crazy. I leave the gym at 5:00 to go pick up my cutie baby boy. They have a day care but maybe when he gets a little older. (((hugs))) Diana
