Gym is Open (Friday 9/21)

I'm up late again, working.  It turns out that, due to a communication glitch, I only received half the assignment I needed to do, thus I'm only halfway done.     There is no way I will fini**** tonight, so I need to get up early tomorrow to get it done. Since I'm not sure when I will get to the rec center tomorrow, I figured I'd open the gym now so the early birds don't have to wait for me. What did you do to move your body today?  (Meanwhile, I will move mine right into bed for a few hours' sleep). Kix

Wow you did post early!  since I took the day off yesterday, I shook up today's routine some.... 15 mins elliptical 30 mins lower body weight training 15 mins upper body weight training 15 mins elliptical and as always the best part is when it's DONE!

Kix, I did a 45 min walk around the track this morning...today is a pretty busy stressful day, so I'm planning on taking at least another 20 min walk at lunch. Lori

Hi, Kix.  Hope you managed to get some I made it to the gym at lunch Friday and lifted weights for upper and lower body.  I switched up my routine today.  I had been doing 3 sets on each machine at 3 different weights (for example, 1 set of 15 at 30 pounds, 1 set of 12 at 35 pounds, 1 set of 9 at 40 pounds).  But I've been doing the same routine for about 8-9 weeks now.  So today I switched to doing 2 sets of 12 at the same weight, but using what had been my maximum weight on the 3-set routine.  (In the example above, that would be 40 pounds.)  I've learned to to continue seeing improvements, I have to change my routine every 8-12 weeks.  Otherwise my body settles in and things remain status quo.   I'm supposed to go back and do cardio after work, but it's so lovely outside I may go for a walk instead.  Although I can't get my heart rate as high by walking, it's good for the soul and the spirit!   Good luck finishing the rest of your work, and catching up on your !!! Hi Kix, Hope all the projects are done, and you were able to rest. I taught 60 minutes of water aerobics today.  Several of the people at my class were very complimentary and said that they look forward to my class since they know they will get a good workout.  I was erally blessed to hear that! I was pretty sedatary the rest of the day with lots of computer work to do.  It really felt good to move this morning.
