I knew it would be cooler today, but I didn't realize how cold until I got out of the car at the rec center.  At home, the cars are garaged, so we go from the warm house to the garage without being exposed to the elements.   I drove my sister's car today (nice new Highlander Hybrid, it's a sweet ride), and I had the heat on as well as the seat warmer.  I had on heavy fleece sweatpants, a long sleeved winter shirt from Lands End, and was still cold.  I used to sweat in 20 degree weather, now I'm one of those wimpy girls who always whines about being cold.  I think it's time to buy a thick pair of long johns.  Do you think they come in control top so I can suck in all my loose fat, too? I'm thinking it's a good idea to take a break as well.  I exercise every day, and sometimes I think it's too much.  I had started taking Sundays off, but perhaps I should try the 5 days off every 45 days.  I do notice that on Mondays (except for today), I'm peppier because I haven't worked out on Sundays. I've already been eyeing the silk thermal underwear in the L.L. Bean catalog with a view towards not freezing my butt off this winter!  I was cold a lot of last winter, and I've lost more insulation since then!  Who knew this would ever be a problem?   Regarding taking a planned break from your workouts, that's a good idea once you've got a great routine established (like you do now).  It gives your body time to heal any small injuries or soreness, plus it gives you a chance to fully replenish the glycogen (carbohydrates stored in muscle).  I've noticed that I have a much higher energy level when I take even 2-3 days off from my regular routine.  I think these breaks may be more important for endurance athletes than for folks like me, but as you say it's something to ponder.   Have a nice evening -  Kellie
