Lisa, Here in Bangor there was a limit because of the surgery table, I think it was 800 lbs.

My BMI was in the mid 80's when I started the process, and in the 70's when I had surgery.  He was worried about doing it lap because of my weight, but the lap surgery was actually very easy for him and uneventful.  I credit the weightloss and exercise pre-surgery for that.  (I did have complications though, and I have no idea whether they had anything to do with my higher weight - I don't think so because they were mainly complications due to excessive scarring).

Hey, last September I was 550 with a BMI of 89 I think it was and I went through about six surgeons till I found the right one. I was near death and I was so ready to go if the lord called me. I had to loose 100 pounds because I kept getting turned down and when I finally had my consult at the end of June, my sweet doc took me on as a patient. I was 451 then. I was so happy. I hope you get your surgery and I hope you come through it gracefully. I was able to have RNY lap and I am like a bird that has been set free haha.....have a wonderful day.....God Bless You......Renee
