Hi everyone...sorry I haven't posted much. I moved and have been setting up the new house and going crazy trying to do things in spite of being tired and in pain from being so fat!  T update...I started the Medifast diet and lost 8 1/2 lbs the first week. Its VERY HARD!  I cook for my lady patient and DH and just shopping in the supermarket is tough with the smells and seeing things I used to eat. Oh well....pity party over!  I have to go tonite to a damn sleep study over night cuz the MD says I have a big uvula (spelling-?) and narrow airway.  I had sleep apnea 11 yrs ago but I don't think I have it now. Also, my EKG was abnormal so I must see a cardiologist before surgery!! AAArrrggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh  the whole month of October is nothing but MD visits!! I know I'm whining, but I have such little time to finish setting up housekeeping before my surgery!!  LOL ANyway, hope you are all doing well.

Congrats on the 8.5 weightloss..I totally get what your saying about all the DR's appointments. I had tons of them too..sleepstudy, ekgs, pyshcos, nuts, pcp, surgeons..but it is all sooo worth it believe me. I just took each appointment one at a time, so not to get overwhelmed. What day is your surgery.?.. sounds like right around thanksgiving? not fair huh.. Good Luck Lynn

Thanks for the congrats.  I know it will be worth it, and it wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't trying to set a house up from a move LOL.  I am trying to look at it all in a positive light....more energy being used, more calories being burned..yadda yadda yadda LOL.  My surgery is Nov 13th.  Still time to lose more weight, thank goodness. Did you end up having sleep apnea??  I had it 11 yrs ago but I hope not now. I think I would know.  I appreciate your support.

Thanks Kristy....I have a daughter with that name spelled the same way.  I have been reading about what you have gone thru and it makes me feel guilty for whining. Its nice to have support and this board is full of it, thank goodness!  You hang in there and vent any time you need to. Hugs!!

DANG!  You are moving and making lifestyle changes and getting ready for surgery??  I sit humbly at your feet.  That's a TON on your plate and you have such a soothing and pleasant presence in your writing.  You go, girl!

What a sweet thing to say!  I happen to be a writer in addition to being a nurse. Its my "hobby thing". I do have a ton on my plate right now, but its helping get thru this liquid diet...the busy part.  I am used to having lots on my shoulders. I have a private duty case taking care of a very demanding and selfish post-stroke woman. She wears my patience thin these days LOL.  But........I always try to look at the cup as being half full..its just my personality.  I love that you people are so supportive and willing to take the time to post feelings and help one another...thats so valuable to anyone going thru this.  Thank you!!
