Good Day Kix and the Exercise Crew! This morning, I went to the easy AquaFit class, and then stayed to help teach 1 hour of swim lessons.  I go back this afternoon to teach 3 more hours.  This is a new age/ability group for me, so I hope that I catch on fast.  These will be young kids - ages 3-5 who are non swimmers just learning to swim. I'm trying to get in more protein today because over the past month due to the increased exercise, I'm not losing as much because I cannot eat enough to keep my body out of starvation mode.  Last week proved that to me after I had asked my doctor about the slowdown.   Hope all of you have a great and active day.

When you mentioned teaching swimming lessons to little ones, it made me think of my younger sister, who is five years younger than me.  I swam on a swim team, and after my swim team workout, she'd have her swimming lesson.  For some reason, she always sank to the bottom of the pool when she swam.  The teacher would yell, "Breathe, Kim!" as she swam on the bottom of the pool like some kind of weird fish.  No matter how hard the teacher tried, she could not swim on the surface of the water!  It was hilarious to watch!  This was 30+ years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday.  In fact, when I see her in two weeks, I'll have to ask her if she's still a "bottom feeder"  when she swims.  I hope your students are easier to teach!  Have fun, and eat more food! My day started great today - I ran a 5K on the treadmill - Ok, let me abbreviate that - I did training for a 5k run, which means I followed the training plan from Cool Running that includes lots of interval training. It was about 42 minutes of jog-run-jog-run, etc. Much easier this time around, although my knee is kind of sore. I was in a pretty good mood after my work out but that quickly faded - I got into class and had a "fuzzy day" - I was told to expect them after dad's death, and I had a lot of them the first week. But this one came out of the blue - I just couldn't think straight, everything was confusing and I got really frustrated. I think my attitude came through in class since I kept getting comments from my study partner (which pissed me off and made me even grumpier). And then I got all teary eyed, which I hate doing. So much for exercise being my "de-stresser" - it just didn't work out that way today. (this is what I feel like doing to each person I see)

My gosh, 42 minutes on a treadmill?  (faints) My knees are shot after 15 minutes, although I can (or could) go longer on the inline machine.  I think it's the impact of my feet hitting the treadmill that makes my knees so sore.  I have to say, I do like doing intervals on the treadmill, it's fun to go slow and then speed the sucker up, makes me feel like I'm in a cartoon or something!  I know precisely what you mean about the fuzzies.  My brother died suddenly a few years ago, and six months after that, my mother passed away.  It seemed like I was still reeling from one death when the other occurred, and it took me about a year just to pull my brains together, then on top of that, I was transferred to Washington state, and I didn't want to go, so adding all that together and 1999 was a pretty craptacular year for me.  I'd get all choked up in staff meetings, which was embarrassing.  I'm sure some people thought I was having a nervous breakdown or milking my losses for all they were worth. As for your study partner, tell him/her I said to stick it.  If you aren't comfortable doing that, point me in their direction and I'll stick it for you.  Either that, or slam your high-heeled foot squarely down on their instep.  That will distract 'em from ragging on you.   I wish we had a "finger" icon, because sometimes I feel like using it!    <--- just doesn't quite convey how I truly feel sometimes! Hugs, Kix

Hi Kix, Had a quick workout...had to go buy Cody a Halloween costume. He's having his six months pictures Sunday (and Halloween ones done). First we bought a pumpkin...them we bought a spider. LOL I wanna take the pumpkin back but hubby doesn't want to. He doesn't need two!!! Anyway, I did 30 minutes on the treadmill and 100 crunches. (((hugs))) Diana

Diana, I vote with Bill on this one.  Of course Cody needs two costumes, he's your first baby!  I can't wait to see him dressed up as a spider!  I'll be in Las Vegas for Halloween, but I'm not dressing up in any costume.  Instead, I will be losing my gambling allotment in the casino.   I know I've said it before, but I am still amazed that you do 100 crunches!  That's really something!
