New BEFORE photo I never thought I'd share

The night of my recent sleep study, they hooked me up to all these wires and took my picture!  I was mortified!!  I told the tech I'd better be nice to him or he could bribe me with that photo!  He laughed and said it was only for my chart....and the internet!! Hah!  Well, I got to thinking and since I witnessed many photos of you all, I felt I should post it. So, take a look on my profile page. Even though I gag every time I look at it, I want it to be a reminder of the OLD me...the one that is vanishing more and more every day. One day I will have the pleasure of comparing it to the NEW me.  Until then, we are all beautiful on the inside and this "shell" of  mine is one I look forward to shedding so the better part of me can shine thru...the same with all of  you. HUGS to all.

I know it doesn't feel like it today, but trust me there will be a day not to far from now when you will be SO glad you had that picture taken. Its one of the number one things I recommend to pre-op's is to TAKE PICTURES. You will hate them today but be grateful for them tomorrow. *Huggles* Felicia =0)

I know you are right Felicia...I guess we never really want to face ourselves when the camera doesn't lie!  Thanks for your reply and your continued support.  Bless you!

I have photographed every step of this journey and I am glad I did. I have a picture on my desk of me weighing 362 lbs. Just to remind me of where I came from and where I don't ever want to go back to. My advise would be to take more pictures and don't let them get you down. Think of it as the beginning of your journey. You will need something to compare the after picture to. The picture below is the one on my desk at work. It stops me from eating crackers all day. OMG just looking at it now makes me want to cry and I look at everyday.

Tricie, you have made magnificent strides and should be proud of yourself. If that photo helps you now, I will keep faith that mine will one day do the same for me.  Thanks for your inspiration!!

Tricie.

wow what a great idea... I have been stuggling lately... almost 2 years out, and gaining and

losing the same 5 lbs.. I still have another 25lbs to lose. This may make the difference for me

I am gonna get my  before pictures out this weekend and put them up everywhere. Thanks

for the great idea.

Lynn

The best part is when people come by my desk and ask whose that a picture of....your sister. You should see their face when I say "no that me" I had to do something, I was losing focus. This works for me.

I cringe every time I look at my before pic - so you are not alone! I took mine the day of surgery, so i really looked bad; no makeup, hair all over the place. But I'm glad I did it - I really didn't know I was that big and I feel a bit shocked every time I look at it. I like Tricie's idea of posting the pic at her desk - I just might do that! Just wait till the day when you can look at it and know it was long ago - it's an amazing feeling!

aaahhhhhhh to be in THAT place and have this all behind me is something all pre-ops must pray for.  Seeing all of you on this board and how you have dramatically changed yourselves gives me and many others hope. Thank you for that!!
