what and how much to eat?
I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and my biggest problem is that I'm eating all the same food everyday. I eat cottage cheese with a little apple sauce maybe some oat meal or yogurt and for Dinner most of the time its a thick cream soup. i dont know what else to eat while i'm on the pureed diet and my doc said 8 weeks from check up which was on the 11th so I have a long time of cottage cheese and yogurt. anyway any suggestions? and i'm so afraid to eat to much that maybe i'm not eating enough how much is normal? Thanks E
I didnt have to do the puree'd stage ,, My doc is differant, Iwas thinking about you and the foods you can have .. think if you try some baby foods , ricotta cheese, also a very soft scrambled egg - Mix a tablespoon of may and a teaspoons of water together - break an egg into it and cook - very soft and moist !! should go down well !!
as far as how much to eat ,, Try to measure and stick to 2-4 oz , eat slow and your body will tell you when you have a bite or swallow too much !!

you could eat some veggie soup and strain out the veggies, or mix it all in a blender. There wasn't much I liked at that stage, but sugar free pudding was ok sometimes. Some people eat ricotta with a little sugar free jam. Maltomeal or cream of wheat? Refried beans and cheese? I'm out of suggestions, but during my puree stage I couldn't manage much except avocado and milk and sometimes pudding or peanut butter. I just couldn't look at food.

One of my favorites was fat-free refried beans with fat-free cheddar shreds, with a packet of hot sauce from Taco Bell! Regarding eating the same things all the time, if you're okay with it I wouldn't worry about it. I did that for the first 8-12 weeks - found 10-12 things I liked to eat and that my pouch could tolerate, then just ate them until I couldn't stand it any more!
Good luck on your continuing journey -
