Wow, you don't hear of too many people keeping a feeding tube that long, especially not as a precaution.  I probably could have used one - I was very very bad about eating in the first month & while I was in the hospital the second time I went 6 days with nothing by mouth.  A g tube would have been handy.  I can already tell you are going to do great, you've got such a good attitude about the whole thing!

Hi Marge! Thank you for the warm welcome and advice! :) I feel at home already. I wish I had kept an on going journal on OH throughout my beginning stages of my WLS journey. I had some serious worries about approval and of course the awful hoops we have to jump through so insurance would know how much we need the surgery. I do, however, visit my past posts on occassion, just to remind myself where I started, how much I want it and how hard I have worked for it so far. It's really humbling to see myself in breakdown point. It helps keep me going, too. I have frequented other success stories and you are correct, it helps immensely. I'm not quite suffering with food, my main issue is water and excercise. Boy, those are some tough cookies! I'm so tired lately that even thinking of excercise exhausts me. I am hoping once I get back on the working wagon that I will get out of this sleepy all the time rut and gain more motivation to stay active. I can't wait until my first few months out. I hear it does get better. Yay! Something to look forward to :) I have started packing a goody bag of carnation inst brks, water and a lite snack to make sure I am getting my needs met when I know I'll be away from home for a bit. It helps! Sorry to hear about your losses. Must have been really tough for you. God definitely tests our strengths at times. YOu should be so proud to stick to something in such a difficult time. You're truly an inspiration :) I am looking forward to posting here more often and getting to know yet another great group of people!

Thanks again!!!

-Farrah
