Sorry I forgot to open the gym yesterday. If you exercised during the weekend and want to post, feel free! I went to the Stock Show yesterday and walked around for about five hours.  My knees were killing me off and on during the day, and so were my feet.  I should have just worn my exercise shoes instead of the ones I chose.  I walked 7400 steps and am worn out today, I don't know how people hit the 10,000 step average in a day. Even though I am very tired, I plan to go to the gym today and do something, even if it's just slow walking on the treadmill. Kix

I scrubbed the kitchen from top to bottom yesterday and it was definitely exercise.  We did the things you never do, like vacuum out the vents and the coils behind the refrigerator.  We started with a new cat litter called feline pine a few weeks ago.  Its great because its flushable and kills the odor sooooo well, but we keep the catbox in the spare bathroom in the tub, and the kitten likes to scoop out the cat litter in to the tub and roll in it (ugh).  At least she only seems to do it when its a clean new catbox and then rolls in the clean stuff over and over again.  Then she trails these chips of sawdust basically all around the apartment.  That it was set off my cleaning frenzy yesterday, because there was sawdust all over our dark blue furniture.  Then I totally flaked out when I found it in our bed last night- we were up until 3 am waiting for the comforter to finish drying.  As much as I love this litter I think we are going to have to try something else.  Today we are planning on bowling again - its probably not the most responsible decision money-wise but we have got to get out for a while and at least its sort of exercise.

I got up off my behind and walked a mile....which on one hand is short, but on the other hand is 4 times further than I even *could* walk this time last year, so I'll take it.

I went to the Y and did an hour-long deep water class with no floatation device around my waist (still have enough of my own spare tire, thank you!) Was a bit dizzy and weak when I got out, but made it home okay.  Hope to do it again tomorrow. Today, dh and I went out and about.  We went to the local GNC and then over to Jo-Ann's Fabric.  I walked through 1/2 of Jo-Ann's, which is huge for me - I couldn't do that pre-op. My goal is to do deep water classes 3x a week for awhile and then add swimming laps for 4-6 months and then add in cardio and weight lifting.  I have horrible knees due to arthritis so water is key for me right now. On my way out the door for a late swim. I hope all the kids are gone. I love kids, but they make too many waves and too much noise!

But I agree - water is fabulous. Plus it doesn't hurt that I am a good swimmer, so I feel good about myself at the pool. So what if my thighs look like an earthquake? I'll beat that skinny broad with butt floss to the other end of the pool!

Planted some daffodils today. A friend had given me a big sack last spring, but I never got them planted. Today I righted the St. Francis statue that the dog had knocked over and planted several groupings nearby. They I planted a whole bunch in the planter outside my studio.

That was the 1st yard work I've done since May! Ye Gods, this depression IS lifting!

Much later ... I swam for 45 minutes. Bought a pretty lilac cap to try to keep the chemicals out of my hair. It was getting gross and sticky. Forgot to bring a towel or even pick up a tiny one at the desk. So I went in the sauna to dry off after my shower. So there are two women in there, both all wrapped up modestly in towels, and here comes big fat nekkid Patty - LOL. One skedaddled right away.  Silly thing. SMO isn't catching.
