Well I went today for my  2 year check up.. It was actually last month..but she is so busy I couldn't get in until today... Well she says I am doing great.. she does want me to start taking more viatmin D.. then get another blood test in two months. I was up 5lbs since I saw her in September for my post op after my gallbladder surgery.. She said she wasn't going to worry about those 5 lbs..but let me worry about them. That I am "normal" now and normal people go up and down 5lbs.. She did say I could stand to loose another 30lbs.. and for me to do that, I really need to increase my exercise this spring and summer. I always feel so good after I leave her office. I won't need to see her now for a full year... Up to now, its been every six months. I really want to be able to go into her office next January. 30 lbs lighter. I can't stressed how happy I am I decided to have this surgery..it saved my life. I loss 290lbs and I still can't believe it. Today as we were leaving the Doctors Office, I remember how tired I was walking back to the car after my first appointment.  I am so blessed... Thanks for listening, and all your support Lynn

Its so nice that you have a great relationship with your surgeon - mine is rocky, and I rarely leave his office feeling good.  I had no idea how common Vit D issues were!  I'm sure you can get it back up.   You can definitely lose another 30lbs before you see her next year.  In comparison to 290?  Thank you for sharing your story!  All the best :)

Congratulations Lynn!  I'm sure you are amazed each time you think of a 290lb weight loss!  I'm just wondering if your labs always include a vitamin D check.  Mine do not, but I will mention it to my PCP.  I'm ready to have my blood drawn for my 1 year check.  It is hard for me to believe that I am almost 1 year out!  I can do so much more, and be so much more active.  I love this active lifestyle and the fact that I don't have to take a nap each and every day.

Thanks for the kind words.. Actually it was my para thyroid(sp) that showed elevated levels, she said it wasn't absorbing the calcium I was taking. That Viatmin D helps with the absorbtion. Even thou my calcium tablets have Vitamin D in them, she suggested taking more. I hope that helps.. Yes I also love our new lifestyle... its so awesome...good luck on your one year check up Thanks again Lynn
