I have a full day ahead, including errands and I get to take the dogs to the vet for their wellness exam and shots.  The shih-tzu always gives us the cold shoulder for a day or two after these wellness visits, and I don't blame him.  It must hurt like H**L to get that bordetella vaccine shoved up the nose when one's snout is a centimeter long.  Our doxie has no problem with it at all. So, all that to do and exercise, too.  The exercise is a priority, so perhaps I will get my carcass out bed at a real hour (7 AM, groan) and go exercise first thing.  Then I don't have to worry about the errands interfering with it, and I can have a nice, big decaf on the way home. What did you do to move your body today? Kix

Sounds like a full day in your world, Kix.  Hopefully the dogs were cooperative about the wellness exam and shots.   Did you make it to the gym first thing this morning?  I love the idea of working out in the morning, so it's over and done with for the day, but the actual doing of it is another thing.  I just cannot haul my a$$ out of bed and go to the gym.  Wish I could, but it just never happens.  Oh, well, such is life...  A morning person I will never be - I'm planning to do another 2-a-day:  lower body strength training and core work at lunch, then 50-60 minutes of cardio after work.  If my girlfriend does not have time to clean the mounds of snow from our driveway today, I may skip the cardio session at the gym and go home to clear the driveway instead.  Not as much exercise since I use a snowthrower, but necessary nonetheless.  If I do clear the drive, I think I'll wear my heart-rate monitor so I can see how many calories I burn...   Anyway, that's my story today - more tomorrow :-) Kellie

Well, good intentions are simply that... good intentions.  I did get up at 7:30, but do you think I got my carcass organized and out the door?  No. My knees are very sore from last night's aquacise (the substitute teacher does lots of vigorous leg work, and I think it was too much on top of my mountain goat treadmill).  I'm still planning to go to the gym, but it won't happen until early afternoon.  This vet visit smack dab in the middle of the morning certainly puts a kink in my day (that's what I get for offering to do it rather than expend a lovely Saturday sitting at the vet's office). I shovel the snow whenever possible, but if the snow is too deep, I'm not above using the snow thrower.  From what I saw on the news last night, your snow certainly qualifies!  What a mess. Later! Well you know what they say about good intentions, eh?   Sorry your knees are sore - mine still bother me sometimes, especially when I'm trying new stuff for my lower body or overdoing some of my regular exercises.

I always try to schedule vet visits for the first appointment of the day, but sometimes I have to take whatever's available.  Mid-day appointments always mess me up because I have to leave work, go home, find the cat, try to catch the cat and stuff him in a cat carrier, depending on success/nonsuccess with cat carrier may have to try to find the cat again or extract him from under the middle of a queen-size bed, then schlep to the vet, wait for appointment, take cat back home, tend wounds as needed, then drive back to work.  Makes me tired just thinking about it.  And Saturday appointments are hard to come by, so not much of a better option there....  Sigh -

I use the snow thrower whenever I can; when I've tried shoveling in the past, my back always gets sore and I like to avoid that if possible.  I also have a tiny electric snowthrower, so althought it's not as hard as shoveling, it still takes quite a bit of effort, especially with this much snow.  I'm really, really, really looking forward to spring -

I'm finally back and trying to get back on a schedule after a crazy weekend. I was planning on running when I was there but I was so busy that it never happened. And because of that, today was really hard. I barely ran 3 miles and felt horrible the whole way. Amazing what can happen when you don't exercise for 4 days! Doesn't help that I gained a few pounds this weekend - it's amazing how I can feel just a few pounds now. How did I manage it 200 pounds ago??!! I'm hoping that life is nice and calm for me for the next 2 weeks - my camp is only 2 weeks, 2 days away and I have got to make sure I am physically able to handle it. I've already decided no social life (unless someone wants to run with me!****il camp, I just need to concentrate on my workouts and school. Lord, I'm tired. Someone want to take over my job today so I can go take a nap????

I actually exercised this morning.  I am just not good at making this a daily habit.  Its an effort to make myself do it - physically, mentally, and time management-wise.  I've never liked exercise much, even though I feel so good afterwards.  Surgery didn't change that.  Ugh.  But anyway, I walked for 20 minutes when I woke up, then I did 30 minutes on the recumbent bike.  If I ever get my libido back I am so counting vigorous sex as my daily workout! Its the only FUN exercise I know of.

Well, I didn't get to the gym today.  When I left the house this morning, I noticed I could barely walk on my right leg due to knee pain.  It sort of worked itself out as the day went on, but the vet ran late and messed up my entire day, so I guess it's just as well I didn't try to exercise. I hope my knee is better tomorrow.  My sister's knee is also sore, so we will not go to aquacise. Kix
