Welcome to our new folks!

I wanted to take a minute and roll out the red carpet to welcome some of the folks that are new to this little corner of the internet.  I think you'll find us a friendly and supportive group of people that really understand where you're coming from!  I thought it might be nice to have a "get to know each other" post so we can learn a bit about each other.  I'll start - feel free to only respond to things that apply to you and add other things about yourself that you think are interesting!  When did or will you have surgery:  10/25/2005 If you're post-op, how much have you lost:  210 pounds Dog, cat or neither:  Cat, currently singular, but hoping to get another one or two soon.  I love dogs, but we're not home enough to have one... Favorite color:  I have two - purple and orange, not necessarily together Favorite movie:  Don't have one, but think other's might... Favorite song:  Bob Seger's Turn The Page Favorite food:  Yep, I still have one, although it changes over time.  Right now it's shrimp ****tail with lots of fresh lemon and ****tail sauce made w/ LOTS of horseradish. Hair color:  dark reddish brown Eye color:  Brown w/ flecks of green Favorite saying/quote:  If you're going through hell, keep going (Winston Churchill) (like my favorite food, this changes over time...  I've also been fond of "Don't die wondering" for a long time...) I'm game (and hi newbies!! ) When did or will you have surgery:  8/06/2006 (it'll be 7 months in 2 days wow) If you're post-op, how much have you lost:  134 Dog, cat or neither:  3 cats - 2 cats and 1 or 2 dogs and maybe 2 goats and 2 rabbits would be my ideal pet menagerie but we live in an apartment and right now I really wish we had fewer cats Favorite color:  blue Favorite movie:  Rear Window, The Hudsucker Proxy, Best in Show or About a Boy - I could watch any of them over and over again (and have) Favorite song:  Waiting for My Real Life To Begin - acoustic version (Colin Hay) Favorite food:  Chocolate, Roasted Green chiles Hair color:  light brown (natural) - but highlighted to blonde Eye color:  definitely blue Favorite saying/quote:  If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.  (My husband just said my favorite saying is "no")

I've seen lots of new faces, it would be nice to get to know some of them When did or will you have surgery:  09/13/2006 If you're post-op, how much have you lost:  202 pounds Dog, cat or neither:  I hate cats but would love a dog, just don't have the yard. So, neither. Favorite color:  Yellow Favorite movie: I have so many I'm not sure where to start, but I love the Sound of Music (that's the first movie I saw in the theaters) and any type of dark comedy (especially Grosse Pointe Blank). Favorite song:  Billy Joel's "A New York State of Mind" Favorite food:  I've always loved popcorn but don't eat it that much since surgery. It use to be my dinner... buttered to the point where now I would get sick . Now, it's peanut butter - loved it before surgery but really love it now. Hair color:  red, red and red Eye color:  Hazel but they change all the time, depends on my mood if they are blue, green are black (that happens when I am sick) Favorite saying/quote:  "Not all who wander are lost."  JRR Tolkien

Dog, cat or neither:  We have 2 mini schnauzers, one geriatric cat, and 2 red-eared slider turtles.

Favorite food:  Hahaha anything that is not soup at the moment...lol but usually a nice rare filet mignon is my favorite!
Hair color:  depends on my mood, but dark right now
Eye color:  Hazel, but changes with my mood as well

Her name is Ashley. Dog, cat or neither:  Dog the sweetest seven pounds of black rescue poodle that my loving heart could find.  I know I am gushing but we are currently DEEPLY in love. There can be no other...
