Hi all, It's been so long since I've posted here.  You guys have been so sweet and supportive to my family and I as we have been dealing with my son's plastic surgery drama.  I am happy to report that he was given the O.K. to head back to work.  He started back on Thursday, and the home care nurse was released from care on Monday.  It was really nice to have the nurse come to take care of the wound (hip to hip incision -- approx 3 inches deep)  For those of you who are new here.  My son had a tummy tuck on Dec 12th and had a very life threatening surgery that reopened the wound on Dec. 28th.  Even though he paid out of pocket for his TT..we are soooo glad that the insurance kicked in on his wound infection.  It's my turn now to go back to doing his dressing.  The incision is down pretty low and  is hard for him to see to business.  I haven't seen the incision for awhile.  The home care nurse told me that my son's belly now looks like he had a bad bike accident instead of the major surgery he went through.  All this for a tummy tuck...he looks the same to me as he did before...But I'm the mom.  Again thank you for your sweet emails and words of encouragement.  You guys really helped me make it through this difficult time.   You guys are the absolute best!!  Hug to all, Ginger

Ginger!  Good to hear from you! I'm glad to hear your son is on the mend, and it sounds like you missed the best part of his oozing wound by having the  home health nurse pack it!    Now that he's improved, it shouldn't be difficult at all for you to tend it.  As for home health nurses, they are the salt of the earth.  I had home health nursing every time I had cellulitis, and my nurse was particularly terrific.  I was lucky enough to have the same nurse each time, so she's practically family now.  I try to keep in touch with her now that I'm well and no longer need home nursing.
