Ugh, like Kix I am up at the time of normal people.  I have a mandatory meeting in a little while (again regarding funding and whether or not I will have any) and then class.  After that I am going to take hubby to work so I have the car and I am going to go to the gym.  It felt really good yesterday and this is the first time I am not sore after a workout.  I hope everyone is having a good Friday and that you have a great weekend.  I plan to clean most of Saturday and do some work, and then Sunday is hubby's birthday.  He is requesting that I cook him a meal of his choice, which he hasn't decided on yet.  We will probably end up going to Whole Foods or Central Market (a swanky division of HEB, origin of the glorious mootopia) and I'm guessing he'll want steak.  And beer.  All good, I tolerate filet mignon pretty well when its cooked right. Any plans for you?  What about foods?  Post 'em here, you know the drill.  And it may be demanding but I don't want to just see the regular 5 people who post here - give me some strangers!  Still not under 300, Jenn

Good morning, Jenn.  I'm no stranger, but I'm posting anyway!  Hopefully some of the newer folks who've been visiting our little forum will pop in and let us know what they are eating.  Perhaps it'll sound better than what I've planned and I'll have to make changes!!!  Anyway, here you go - Breakfast:  1 cup 1% milk in my coffee, 1 packet Quaker Weight Control oatmeal

Snack #1:  1 cup low-fat cottage cheese, 4 tbsp. sugar-free preserves, ~1/2 cup sliced strawberries

Snack #2:  1 slice whole-grain bread (toasted), homemade egg salad (about 1 1/2 hard-boiled eggs and 1tbsp. light mayo)

[no lunch time workout - ran errand to Target and picked up lunch at Roly Poly]

Lunch:  Key West Cuban sandwich from Roly Poly (Ate the whole thing, should have stopped at half, but it was delicious and I was hungry.  Now I feel a little too full and am uncomfortable...  Will I ever learn????  Sigh - )
Snack #3:  venti non-fat latte with sugar-free vanilla syrup

Snack #4:  1 slice whole-grain bread, 3 slices turkey breast, 1 slice low-fat cheese, ~1/2 c. alfalfa sprouts

[workout #1:  50-60 minutes of cardio]

Snack #5:  either a Quaker chewy granola bar or a banana after my workout

Dinner:  Chinese food - probably some white rice and either shrimp or scallops with assorted vegetables

Snack #6:  1 Starbucks mocha bar

My scale keeps doing that too - except it varies by like 10 lbs - wondering if it needs a new battery.

Fri - well funding is still up in the air, now they say they'll know in the summer.  Argh.  In the meantime I am applying continuously for alternate sources.  Money is tight in science right now, thank the president for consistently cutting NIH funds in every single budget.  Money is always tight from the NIH, very competitive, but now its just unbelievably tight.  Here's my day so far and the my plan for the rest of the day (won't go to gym until midnight because *gasp* my husband actually wants to go and asked me to wait for him to get off work) B - A protein shake?? But I hate protein shakes!  Actually this one was vaguely drinkable for me, had a more acceptable texture and very little odor - it was an EAS myoplex RTD vanilla.  Husband bought chocolate last week and I sipped a bit, was shocked to find it decent, so bought one myself.  I don't like to supplement protein often, I'd rather get it from food or milk, but I was in a rush this morning and it held me over for about 3-4 hours surprisingly.  S - 1/2 serving kay's naturals kruncheeze L - 1/2 of a half chicken quesadilla (same as yesterday) and then a grande latte a little while later S - Carnation instant breakfast with 16oz mootopia D - vegetarian stuffed bell pepper, small salad Post-workout snack  if I want it - 1 or 2 2% string cheeses, handful of smoked almonds

Friday:  My day was a disaster from start to finish, and I dove right in to overeating.  I can't overeat like I used to, but even so, this was unacceptable.  I ended up horking an hour ago when my pouch just couldn't take it.  B: 1 Instone protein pudding.  S;  1 venti decaf  E: Walking around the auto show for three hours L: 2 Atkins protein bars at the auto show.  S: 1 venti decaf  D: 1/2 ribeye steak, 8 thin steamed asparagus spears, 1 enormous dinner roll.  S: too many cashews, which I horked right up.  Overeating sucks, and it didn't even make me feel better like it used to. As Scarlett O'Hara said, "Tomorrow is another day."  I think I will take it easy food-wise, although we are going to the theater tomorrow to see "My Fair Lady," which means we may go out to dinner afterward. I'm sorry you dove headfirst into food, and I hate to say it because I don't want to sound like it wasn't the wrong thing to do, but it certainly could have been worse.  You ate protein at least I remember your bagel incident so I'm glad you didn't just dive into the nearest pile of bread.  And you can acknowledge that it didn't make you feel better.  That's good, I don't think I can do that yet.  It still makes me feel better so I definitely understand the compulsion - I snacked a little too much while I was cooking tonight - on the food I was cooking.  Grazing is the biggest obstacle for me to overcome.  I was rarely a binger (although when I did, it was a doozy, in secret, in my car) but I've always been a grazer, even if I wasn't hungry.  Take it easy on pouchy tomorrow.  You are right tomorrow is a new day, meaning at least the bad one you had today is almost over

I'm right there with ya hon - today was binge day for me as well. I'm sorry it's been a tough day for ya, I read about the interview. You never know though, they might surprise you. It's happened to me before! I'm not even going to list what I ate because I'm not even all that sure. I did get in all my water and vitamins but that's about it. This funk is really getting to me - I  randomly break into tears with no warning at all.  It's getting a little old and starting to wear on me. I'm hoping it's just the stress of moving but I'm not all that sure. My emotions are just heightened right now - I'm even having a hard time exercising. Sigh, that's it for my pity party. I hope yours was as good as mine

There must have been some kind of bad dust in the air today.  I still can't believe I got lost this morning.  From my house to the health department, it's 285 S to S. Santa Fe to Belleview, then Belleview for a few miles, then hang an immediate right into the low rise complex once you pass Monaco.  How hard is that?  Judging by the way I got there today, you'd have thought I'd just pulled into town and couldn't tell east from west from upside down.  My pity party is still going on, I'm hoping to snap out of it tomorrow when the weather is nicer. Kix
