Gym is Open (Tuesday 4/8)
Good Morning Kix,
I was running a little late this morning so I only did 30 mins on the dreadmill at +7 incline and 3.2 mph......
My daughter is getting married this weekend and the stress is starting to build.... I didn't get enough sleep last night because of it, then I dozed off about 30 mins before my alarm was supposed to go off... LOL

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding! I admire anyone brave enough to marry!
Doesn't that suck, not being able to sleep and then falling asleep just before it's time to get up? Sometimes God has quite a sense of humor.
30 minutes on the dreadmill sounds more than adequate! Keep up the good work.

Good morning, Kix. Tuesday is yoga day for me! I'm really enjoying this yoga class and have even recorded a couple yoga programs on cable to try at home. I feel really good when I'm done - very relaxed and energized at the same time.
I'm meeting friends for dinner, so will just do the yoga class today.... Back to 2-a-days tomorrow!

I don't trust that I'd be able to get off the floor, thus no yoga for me. My rec center offers an aqua tai chi class (the teacher is awesome, she has MS and is into all sorts of alternative therapies, so I've learned a lot from her just by talking with her in the locker room), but the class costs quite a bit of money, so I'll have to wait and take it next quarter.
It's fun to find new ways of exercising, isn't it?

I don't like distractions when I am working out. I'm pretty much a grouch in the morning and don't like to be messed with.
So...this morning I got on my treadmill and my husband put his bag on the floor next to my treadmill and ran to the bathroom. A woman walked up, looked at his bag and dropped her water bottle in the holder where my husband was going to work out. He was walking up behind her but chose not to say anything. I so wish he would have.
I've seen her in there and she does a good elliptical workout. I'd already been on 10 minutes when she started. About 5 minutes later, she started grunting and just making all kinds of noises. I was listening to some slower music and I changed it to harder music. I could still hear her! So I turned it up and just focused on my workout. Taking out my frustration on the elliptical and pushing through that point at 30 minutes when I wanted to quit. I used the fast choruses in the songs to help me push harder on the elliptical.
So 45 minutes later on a random hill program I had gone 3 miles and burned almost 600 calories. While I know not to implicitly trust what the calories burned says, I know I burned a few this AM.
So if there is any of you out there who don't like to be distracted, get next to a grunter and turn up the music!
You are way nicer than me. I'd have told her right off the treadmill was already spoken for. Next time, tell hubby to do a better job of marking his territory!
I can't stand distractions when I exercise, either, and had she been making all that racket next to me, I'd have had to seriously hurt her feelings. What is it about some people? There was one woman at the gym the other day talking loudly on her cell phone about her yeast infection.

Not going to do anything very physical today - taking it a little easy after fainting last night. I might go walking around at the park.
Oh and to answer your question, yeah I probably do stride differently. I also have a pelvis tilt or a shorter leg because my right foot drags a little at the slower speeds, and I also have a should drop on that side. Definitely need to go see a chiropractor of sports medicine type person if it continues. Last night it was better, my hip cramped for about 10 minutes only and it wasn't as strong. I stretched it out really thoroughly earlier in the day because I was hurting from all the sitting I had to do on hard chairs at school. I also decided to use some heat for a few days, and that seems to relax the whole area quite a bit.
And who knows, maybe when I hit the floor in the bathroom last night I gave myself a spinal adjustment, because my lower back is quite happy today.

There are probably better ways to give yourself a spinal adjustment!
I hope you rested up and are back to your peppy self. I think sometimes we get so excited about being able to do stuff that we overdo. It happens to me every once in a while, and usually it's because I am extremely active but neglect to hydrate properly throughout the day. I have a wonky walk sometimes because of Thigantor and Thigantorina, and depending on the day, sometimes my left knee feels pulled out of whack, and my walk gets a bit funny.
