Gym is Open (Magnificent Monday) 5/5

Mondays always get a bad rap, so I thought I'd put a positive spin on it.  Today is my once a month casino jaunt, so I'll be on the bus bright and early.  I like going early and walking up and down the main street, as well as walking through all the casinos.  I put my pocket change in a big jar and that's my gambling money.  I think I have about $50 to take with me.  I'd have more, but I didn't win the Powerball last Saturday night.  My exercise will be exclusively walking, no gym for me. What did you do to move your body today? Kix

Hopefully they have a non-smoking area at the Casino.  Smoking is the worst part about going to the casino.  The second worst thing is that I always lose. Did 45 minutes of upper body weight training and 20 minutes of treadmill on a hill program at 3 MPH.  I feel really good this morning except for the soreness in the legs still from last week.

Girl, win some for me please - this commuting is killing my budget! I had spinning class this morning with Spicoli dude - this class is really pushing me hard and I love it. Fun class! I'm running another adventure race in 5 weeks and so i am going to really step up my workouts - do a couple of long workouts, also known as brick workouts. For example, you start with trail running for 5 miles then dive right into mountain biking for 10 miles then hike for 5 miles. It helps train your body to get use to the transition from each discipline for racing.  I've been doing them periodically but I'm going to step it up the next few weeks. And this is the last week of school for me!!! YEAH!!!! I am soooo ready for a break - my brain is tired

I enjoyed my three day gym hiatus but back to it today I guess.  I'm going to walk 3 miles on the treadmill - it'll probably take about 70min.  I'm very down today, hoping exercise will lift my spirit.  I am probably feeling so down partly because I haven't been exercising anyway.

Yep, there's something about that endorphin rush first thing in the morning that seems to make my whole day brighter!   Hugs,

Enjoy your gambling junket, Kix!  I hope you hit the jackpot After spending the weekend mostly sitting on my a$$ and eating, I'm definitely in for a 2-a-day today.  I did lower body strength training and core work at lunch, and will go back to the gym after work for 60 minutes of cardio.  Must keep moving, must stop eating crap...
