Well, I eventually took off my ***** hat and had a good Tuesday evening. It included a 15min nap that completely changed my outlook on life. Hopefully Wednesday will go more smoothly. I have to go to work and also have my picture taken to replace this one
http://www.utsa.edu/mbrs/particip.htm
Can you pick me out? Apparently someone decided I don't look like that anymore and they asked me to come take a new picture. I am not sure if I should be offended or pleased to get rid of that horrible thing. No one else has a new picture but I'd like to think maybe they are having everyone update and I'm not special.
Here's my food plan
Edit - why do I bother with a plan? I end up changing it anyway. I absolutely could not eat bkfst today, not even liquid, which is what I almost always do. So I skipped it and then had some yogurt as a snack later.
B - 16oz vanilla soy milk plus fiber fiber one yogurt instead
S - 2 2% string cheese sticks
L - 2 leftover chicken tenderloins, fiber one bar
D - pot roast with parsnips, carrots, potato, onion, and stewed tomato (rosemary, red wine, and garlic) came home from work early to start this and got completely nauseas at the thought of eating it - not eating well today at all. I assume its the Zoloft or its ketosis. I'm probably going to drink mootopia for protein and just call it a day with eating.
S - 1 kiwi, 1c strawberry slices
Calories - 954
Fat - 33g
Carbs - 109g
Fiber - 32g
Protein - 60g
Protein is a little low for me, but I think its a decent spread for the day. I also over-estimated amounts probably. I seem to have pretty strong restriction for the last couple of days, as long as I don't eat pretzels.
I did manage to stay on track all day Tuesday, so I am pleased with that. No errant pretzels, cookies, or other carby evils came near me - although I really wanted some popcorn! (and have it now and again because I don't think its a terrible choice as a treat)

I had a pretty good food day Tuesday - a couple more snacks than I had originally planned, but still kept my calories around 2200 (which is great, considering my weekly averages for the past 4-6 weeks has been closer to 2700-2800 calories per day - no wonder the scale popped up). I'm still retaining fluids, a bit crabby, and crankier than usual; I'm attributing it to hormones...
I can actually feel the retained fluids when I exercise, especially when I'm on the upright bike (flabby legs hurt) and the elliptical (bouncing girls hurt). I'm going to ask my surgeon about whether I can use a low dose of diuretics at this time of month since I seem to gain 5-8 pounds of fluid weight every month. We'll see what he says -
Anyway, here's my food plan for Wednesday - edited Thursday morning to reflect final totals for Wednesday:
Breakfast: 1 cup 1% milk in my coffee, 1 packet Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal
Snack #1: 1 cup low-fat cottage cheese, 4 tbsp. sugar-free preserves, 1/2 c. sliced strawberries
Snack #2: 1 small banana, 80 calorie chewy granola bar [workout #1: upper body strength training, core work]
Lunch: WW SmartOnes salisbury steak w/ mac & cheese, small navel orange
Snack #3: 6 oz. Breyer's light yogurt, 1/2 c. sliced strawberries 1/4 c. Kashi granola
Snack #4: 1 slice whole-grain bread, 3 oz. honey ham, 1 slice low-fat cheese, alfalfa sprouts

It sucks to retain water, doesn't it? I feel all gross and yucky and I'm tired of feeling that way. At spinning class today I had to fight to do the hills and strength section - my body is just not happy right now.
Good for you for sticking it out though - it's tough when you feel yucky. I'm personally ticked (a good motivator for me!)... at myself, my body, my dr., the damn medicine, and so on - such rational thought
But I figure until my clothes fit again, the anger thing will work as motivation.
Good luck today! Stay strong!!

Yes Jen.....change your picture.....:)
Here's my plan .....Are you proud of me? I made one today lol

L= protein shake
S= Only 8 Frozen yogurt

Yep I'm proud. Now do like me and change it all up in the middle of the day ;)
I got a new pic taken - turns out it was only me. And the guy who was flirting with me and didn't recognize me was the one who suggested they need a new picture LOL
Well, I seem to be eating for England the past couple of days, which tells me Aunt Flo must be due to arrive soon. Ugh. I'm eating when I'm not feeling physical hunger, which is a bad thing. Must stop!
Here's what I've had so far today, which is good. B: 1 can Instone protein pudding @ 100 calories, 20g protein and 1 EAS protein drink @110 calories, 17g protein (210 calories, 37g protein).
I'll add the rest of the day's chow later.

Here's how the rest of my day went, food-wise: E: none, tripped at garden store and twisted my knee. L: gobbled 6 oz steak, horked up 4 oz. Rested until I felt better. D: 3 oz delicious lemon garlic salmon, 1 portion green beans, and salad. S: 2 protein bars.

Bloaty girl here - I'm with Kellie, it sucks to retain fluid and feel bloated. In doing my research of Singulair I found out there is a ton of sodium and some steriods in it - no wonder I feel this way! I have a feeling it's going to take a few days to get the medicine out of my system and before I see a difference - today I am, again, at 178. No matter what I do it's just staying around. I can't wait for my body to go back to normal!
The ***** hat sometimes is not a bad thing - it gives you new perspective. Although naps can do that to - have you started taking the zoloft yet? I took an anti-depressant some years ago and it helped a lot. But, if you don't see a difference in a few weeks be sure to talk to your Dr. - I went through 3 different types until getting on Prozac and that one finally worked. Hopefully Zoloft will work for you!
Here's my plan, pretty much the same thing I've been doing the past 2 days. This is got to work at some point.
pre-workout snack: PB pudding
breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of 2% cheese
snack: atkins protein bar, large banana
lunch: WW Garlic chicken with squash
snack: small apple, fat free yogurt
snack: atkins protein bar
dinner: 3 ounces of grilled chicken, grilled zucchini with parmeson cheese
snack: 2 cups honey nut cheerios
calories: 1625
fat: 52
carbs: 199
fiber: 30
protein: 105
water: about 104 ounces
Good job on resisting temptation yesterday - I'm still feeling pretty determined. It helps that my clothes are all tight and that just ticks me off when that happens. Good luck today!!

I did start Zoloft yesterday and I meet with him again in a month. I have to work my way up to the full dose so I am taking half pills for 6-8 days and then going to the full dose. We shall see if it helps. I hope it doesn't make me gain weight. I hope its the reason I couldn't eat this morning actually, that'd be awesome
My brother gained weight on Singulair - I'm not sure if they took him off of it or not, but I know he ballooned up for a while after he started. He has very bad asthma though, and I think the effects of the drug probably outweighed his weight gain. Ended up he got sick and it took months to get someone to take out his gall bladder (botched test ruled out gall bladder in the beginning but we knew that's what it was, we all had them out young - he's 15) Anyway, he lost all of the weight being sick. And growing. How is it that I am 5' tall and my 15 y/o brother is going on 6'2'' - not fair.

Pre B - SF NF Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte B - cottage cheese and Splenda peaches S - 2 steamed Chinese spinach buns S - SF NF Chai Tea Misto L - Eggface's Italian Bean Salad S - turkey jerky - 1 oz. S - SF NF Carmel iced latte D - turkey meatball and veggie soup, banana S - turkey pepperoni stick and fontina cheese
