Ok, gonna have to pull out the dictionary soon, I can't think of words that start with M!

I hope everyone had a good weekend.  I did!  Sat was full of pampering and Sun our friends came over again.  We finally have the ideal situation - a couple that is similar to us in sense of humor, lifestyle, age, without children, and both of us like both of them (and vice versa).  That's not easy to come by, we're kind of picky in the friend department.

The only problem is that Joe and I bring out the worst in each other sense of humor-wise.  We are bad!  I should not be encouraged.  We swam for a while and then went out for Chinese.  I had lettuce wraps, which tasted fine and settled fine at first.  Now, an hour later, I'm kind of uncomfortable.  Not sure what's up with that.

For Monday, I plan on a little grocery excursion and maybe a grilled cheese.  I'm not sure what else is in store but once I know I'll post it.

Okay, how about Magnificent Monday? Or Marvelous Monday? Or have you already used them? hahahahahah

Sounds like you did have a fun weekend. What are lettuce wraps? I used to love Chinese food but pretty much pass on most of it these days. I don't have the cravings for it like I used to.

I think I am going to do a protein bar for breakfast and maybe some bacon. For lunch I am going to have some of a fresh mozzarella ball. The whole ball has got 40 grams of protein in in and I may munch on it for lunch and afternoon snack. For dinner I am going to have Chicken soup I made. I got some skinny spaghetti from carbsmart.com. It is made from soy and has 26 grams of protein per 2 oz serving and only 3 carbs. And it is wonderful. I break it up and put it in the soup. It is just like having chicken noodle soup. And it is a protein powerhouse when you add in the chicken and very low carb.

So that should get me close to 90-100 protein grams where I need to be.

Its minced chicken with some veggies and seasoning - generally carrots and onion at least.  This one had lots of veggies - some mushroom, carrot, bean sprout, onion, and maybe cabbage.  You get big pieces of lettuce and you put the chicken in them, plus whatever sauce you like (I used a HOT wasabe mustard) and roll it up, eat like a burrito.  They are quite light generally and its usually an appetizer so it fits more with my portion sizes - although I didn't finish half and pawned the rest off in Barbi's take home box.  That or soup is generally my go-to in Chinese restaurants.  I prefer Thai or Vietnamese over Chinese anyday!  This place specialized in dim sum, but most of the choices were very carby so I didn't try any.

Those noodles sound great!  I will have to look into that!  Thanks for the tip :)

Mmmmm mozzarella.... I love fresh mozz with some sliced tomatoes, fresh basil, and a little good aged basalmic vinegar.  Definitely something I've eaten many times post-op.

And I think I've used magnificent and marvelous already... just not the same ring to it as malodorous hehehe.

Great news about the couple-friends.  I know how hard that can be.

My weekend was ok.  I've been havng problem with getting hot, flushed, weak and shaky, and feeling like I'm going to go down,  then accompanied by anxiety.  I think most of the time it's been 1-2 hrs after eating.  But I seem to be having more of this.   I took my BS and it was 105.    Also seems to happen with minor exertion, but that is very possibly a coincidence.  I've been doing some reading on late dumping and this week and going to try to monitor this like a hawk.  I have my f/u appt next week and want to have some detailed notes for her.

Anyway, food plan for today:

B - yogurt with ? or egg/chz/ww toast

S - milk

L - ham/chz on WW LC LF wrap with tomato and pickle ; snow peas

S - milk

D - hamburger and grapes

Have a great week

I had a fun weekend, although it involved a lot more alcohol and a lot less protein than I'm accustomed to...  I went out for a couple beers with a friend Friday after work, then met friends for a margarita before going to the Indians game...  One margarita turned into two which turned into three - ouch.  Then I hung out with my sisters yesterday afternoon and drank 4 bottles of Captain Morgan's mojitos...  Definitely not my usual modus operandi and I'll have to be careful to make sure this doesn't become a regular thing - no need for a belated addiction transfer to crop up now...

Anyway, I'm back to my regular food plan today, which does not involve any alcohol -

Snack #3:  6 oz. light vanilla yogurt, 1/4 c. mueslix cereal, 2 oz. blueberries, 3 oz. strawberries

Snack #4:  Pure Protein bar

It's so nice to find a couple to do things with that you get along well with!

Boring weekend here, but I'm still in recovery mode. Going to Costco Friday night and then grocery shopping (with hubby both times) was the biggest thrill of the weekend.

2 Dr's appointments today ... hopefully good news about going back to work soon. Hubby is off to drive and go with me to both appointments.

Pre B - SF NF brown sugar cinnamon latte

B - double fiber whole wheat English Muffin with peanut butter and a banana sliced on top

S - jerky

L - salad with grilled chicken

S - edemame or Greek yogurt

D - chicken, veggies

How about Manic Monday...old eighties song!  I expected you to have a story about stomach issues with that title.

I went to school for half the day on Saturday and then went grocery shopping.  Made crab cakes Saturday night.  Was a little disappointed because they were too salty.  I don't think I changed anything, but maybe my tastes are changing.  I did use claw meat instead of lump crab.

Sunday was church and then homework.  It took me 2 hours to do 10 calc problems just because they are so time consuming.  I so can't wait until this semester is done.  Three more weeks!  Yes!

We had the Blue Angels air show this weekend.  There was a bad electrical storm on Saturday so they cancelled it to sunday, but then they ran it on Sunday and then another electrical storm.  I don't usually go out for that show because we get tickets for the homecoming show on the base in November from my sales rep at the VIP tents.  That's the way to see the Air Show...right on the flight line!

Yum.  Lettuce wraps.  I made those last night.  chicken breast, sliced red onions, bell pepper, celery, zucchini, summer squash, ginger, garlic, bean sprouts and a package schezuan sauce (not hot enough).  Just cooked the chicken quickly and added veggies in the last minute with sauce.  They were good, just not hot enough.

Today was a twisted protein bar (can't wait till they are gone...too addicting like a candy bar)

S - Beef Jerky - this is my new friend.

Lunch will be a salad with mixed greens, avocado, green onion, chicken and oil & vinegar

Dinner - who knows...I'm at my husband's mercy for another 3 weeks.  May have a SBD frozen pizza.  They are really good and have 30+ grams of protein.

I've noticed I find things too salty very often now, and I haven't changed how I cook things either.  When I ask my husband he says its fine, but it seems salty to me!
