Successful Shopping - in so many ways!
Next weekend I am heading out of town with my two best girlfriends. The trip is to celebrate my weight loss. I hoped I would be at a hundred pounds lost by then, but I think I am going to be shy by a few pounds. In preparation of next weekend we decided to shop for some new clothes for the weekend. I was real hesitant about the shopping trip because I am still having difficulty with stamina especially where walking is concerned. But nonetheless,I headed out to the mall. We got there around 12:15 and shopped until 4:30. Yep, you are reading right! Over 4 hours of shopping and we weren't done. Stopped for some sushi and then headed to the store for me. (My friends are little things, but were happy to come along to the Fat Shop. Be offended if you want, that is what I call those plus sized stores.)
The last time I was in this store, I left very depressed because clothes still didn't really fit me right. However, the girls have long needed support so I had to shop for a new bra. Happily, I found one that fit and it was odd to have the girls high up again. In fact when I took the bra off to purchase it and put my old one, it felt even odder that they were no longer pushed up. I can't wait to start wearing my new bras!!! Feeling good about the new bra, I tried on shirts again. I am still in a 5x for most shirts, but I bought was a 4x. AND - two of the shirts are stylish and trendy. Something I haven't been able to say about my clothes in quite some time.
So you see, I had a good day. Lasted many hours shopping, spent some good time with my friends, got new bras, and purchased great clothes. My legs ache but at least I know it is from an accomplishment in stamina. Here's to hoping I have as much energy for next weekend!!!

I miss shopping with my friend. She passed away in 2005 from leukemia and even though she was tiny, she gladly went with me to the fat stores (no offense taken here). Since then, other gals that I'm friends with have smaller kids and we don't have as mu*****ommon.
Shopping is still fun for me as I discover my new body each month. You will get begin to have more fun with shopping as the weight keeps falling off.
Isn't it great to see the girls where they were meant to be even if it's only a temporary fix while you have the bra on? When I take mine off, ugh, it's not a pretty sight, but a great fitting bra hides a multitude of sins.
Where are you going? Sounds like you have a great group of friends!

I have the best two friends in the world and then many more outside of those two. My philosopy - make new friends but keep the old, one is silver the other gold.
We are heading to New Orleans for the weekend. I used to love Bourbon Street and have always desired to stay in a hotel on the street. It is a "Bucket List" item I am checking off!!!
Congratulations on all of your accomplishments! It's really exciting when you can actually measure your success. I, too need new bras, but am waiting a bit longer in the hopes of them lasting a bit longer. And I especially agree with you...good friends tha are supportive and true are the best blessings we have. Your post actually made me tear up a little. I have many good friends that listen to me and support my efforts. Any boy do I love to talk about this new and exciting experience of weight loss. Not to mention all of the wonderful friends I've made here on this board.
Be safe and have a great trip. Take pictures, I'd love to see them when you return!

That's awesome about the positive shopping trip. I, too, am excited about being able to shop for clothes in an actual store again. I'm just now starting to comfortably fit in 6X though so it will probably be at least the holidays for me...oh well.
Have a great time on your trip this weekend! It sounds like a fantastic time. Stay away from the alcohol!
