I'm Lisa..
I am just getting started with the whole process. I have my first evaluation appointment with my doctor on Aug. 27Th. I have all my papers ready and all my documented letters from my main doctor has been faxed over to my weight loss physician. I'm just worried that I won't get approved once my doctor submits everything to my insurance. Both of my doctors feel that I will be approved because my BMI is over 50 and I'm having weight related health issues now. I'm so nervous, scared , and excited all at the same time. Is this normal? Everyone else here is a lot farther into their journey, and I'm already freaking out...

Welcome to the forum Lisa! You'll find a great supportive group here with a lot of knowledge and experience. I found that the surgery center I used knew a lot about working with the insurance companies and what they told me about approval and their confidence level was accurate. If they tell you they're confident that you'll get approval, they're probably right. I think that it's really normal to have the whole range of emotions about the process - enjoy the ride!
Hi, Lisa, and welcome to our little corner of the internet. I'm in the Cleveland area, so we almost neighbors. I know it's hard not to worry about getting approved, but just try to relax. If your doctors are confident you'll be approved, then hopefully that will happen pretty quickly.
Your surgeon, Adrian Dan, was a surgical fellow for my surgeon (Dr. Schauer) back in 2005!!! Dr. Dan assisted on my surgery and did a lot of my follow-up care. He had a great bedside manner and I was very comfortable with him; you are in good hands. What hospital is he working at these days???
Don't freak out - we all have to start some place. And there are a lot of folks in this forum who are just starting their journey; we all come to WLS in the time and place that is right for us, so just know that you're where you are supposed to be, doing what you're supposed to be doing.
Keep us posted on your progress -
