HI , My first question is I just did some calculations and there is a good chance I might have my period the day of surgery . Will  that be a concern.

#2  I have a belliebutton hernia will this prevent me from having surgery.  or add complications
Thanks

Period won't be a problem - happens all the time and the nurses are accustomed to dealing with it.  Definitely not a big deal -

Regarding the hernia, I'd suggest asking your surgeon.  It may affect whether he/she can do your surgery laproscopically.  Not sure whether they'd try to fix the hernia during the bypass surgery, or leave it and address it later.  But I'd definitely talk to your surgeon about that issue -

I was spotting the day of my surgery.  They could have cared less.  No big deal.

I didn't have my period, but I had the belliebutton hernia.  My dr. just fixed it while he was there. But I had open RNY.

I have a belly button hernia and it was no problem for my doc to work around. He did not fix it, he recommends that I have it repaired in about a year when I have dropped more weight.
