We were given a doberman puppy and she was the cutest little thing.
We call her Nina
Well you know they get their ears cropped and she is having such a hard time with it.We took her back to the vet yesterday and he fixed them with something he said would she wouldnt be able to get off..Wrong i woke up to her chewing it up..Omg
I feel like Nina i sabotage myself alot.
Do you all do this? Im still my own worse critic and probaley always will be..
I had the dog on my lap last night(i have a lap now) and i told her how beautiful she was but she is only hurting herself and my son looked at me and said practice what you preach mom...
The scales are moving again thank goodness, but i just wanted to share how the pup is making me put things in perspective..

Aww poor pup!  Its cool how that put something in perspective for you, and your son is very perceptive! I definitely self-sabotage. I go through stages where its worse and stages where its better, and I'm not really sure WHY. I think fear of new things is a big part of it though.

I hope your pup feels better soon. The ear cropping thing is sad. I want a boxer but if I get one I don't think I'll crop the ears or dock the tail.

when they brought her out of the vets office i cried.
she just looked like an overgrown weiner dog before .
now she just  looks(goofy) but we love her.
my cousin gave her to Lucas and she was free, nah my dad said no such thing as a free dog.lol
but i am really sabotaging myself lately its the first time since march that ive had a period and i wonna eat...so i have to  keep busy so i dont think about it.
My son had a dilly bar and i had to have a bite and boy did it make me feel bad...so never will i try that again.lol

Ok, I'm a dog lover and puppies are the cutest!  You should post some pictures!

I love the analogy that you made.  So true, so true!

For sure, i ts not just our physical changes that are affected.  Wrapping our thoughts and minds around all that has happened or will happen to our bodies is a tough one.  I still criticize myself and sometimes reach for crap food I don't need just because its there. Let's face it, old habits are hard to break. So, we just do the best we can and re-program our minds to think in a different direction. Its not easy and its something I personally have to work at every single day. Give the puppy a nug from me and two for you!   Jeanine
