Kix must be out walking, so I'll open the gym. After a stressful week I need to work out some agression - I'm off to the pool today to tear into my laps. I noticed last time that it no longer takes me 45 minutes to do my 1/2 mile + (40 lengths). I think I need to move it up to 50 lengths.

How are you going to move your body this weekend?

I can't wait for this abcess to heal so I can "join you" in the pool!  lol.  I love to swim  :)

I walked on my treadmill for almost 15 min today NONSTOP!  yay me!  I am getting back on later tonight and going to try to do 1/2 hr divided each day now to get my strength back.

Start: 487 lbs (8/07) Lost 81 lbs pre op on South Beach. 406 lbs at surgery (6/08). 179 post op, by 2011. I  lost 308 lbs. Gained 98 while pregnant (2012-13) lost all but 25. My goal is to be 179 again!

Sorry to hear you are struggling with an abcess. I hate it when I have something that keeps me out of the pool. Not that I go every day - I'm working up to that - but when I know I'm on the deck for a week or more, I get grumpy.

I have not yet tried a treadmill. Are most of the ones at a health club strong enough for some one who  is still SMO? Or do you have your own?

I have my own.  It's weight limit is 300 but I figure if I am not RUNNING I should be ok.  It was 200 bones @ Wal MArt 4 years ago.  The ones at the Gym's are definitly OK for people of any weight.  I used to belong to a gym and I loved it!  Those are the best treadmills ever.  like walking on air.  I plan to rejoin when I get stronger  :)

I did 1.5 kilometres (3/4 mile) in the pool today and will do the same tomorrow.

I realized today that when i swim for that distance i am actually burning more calories in that 50 mins then i am able to consume and absorb in a day!

No wonder I am losing almost a pound a day!

That is very cool - a pound a day is totally awesome. I think you have inspired me to bump up to 3/4 mile as well.

I didn't get to pool after all today.

I had an appt. at 10 with my shrink and then stopped at the fish market. I then had the not-so-clever idea that if I swam then, I'd miss the 1st quarter of the Penn State v. Oregon State game, so I'd go after. Penn State is my alma mater plus I worked there for 15 years before moving to Oregon. So there was lots of good natured kidding on Friday at work. PSU pretty well creamed OSU.

But the swim didn't happen - I got slammed w/ a migraine. This often happens after some big spurt of hard work and stress, and last week I had problems with a new computer app I designed. But knowing the cause doesn't help - only an Imitrex shot does that!

I will get to the pool tomorrow if I can keep the headache at bay.
