Wedding Rings
What did you all do about your wedding rings as you lost weight?
I have already had to stop wearing the third ring I wear with my wedding set and my wedding set is getting way to loose too.
I don't want to not wear them but I still have a long way to go and so sizing them now would be silly.
Any suggestions?

There's always the old high school trick of wrapping yarn or thread around it to make it fit more snugly. There also plastic ring wraps that I think you can get at Claire's. They are like plastic tubing that is split down the middle, I think. Don't use tape, as I'm told the residue can be difficult to remove. There are also metal things called ring guards, but they can scratch soft metal.
Me? I just keep moving them along to different fingers....

Its funny you should ask that, I picked up my engagement/wedding ring from being resized today. (I only wear one ring) I wore it on my middle finger at first, then I had a ring guard inserted for a while, from the jewelry store. That didn't last too long, so I stopped wearing it. I took it to be resized and they suggested I wait for a couple of reasons - Its white gold so I have to have it replated each time they adjust it (my resizing cost $120 today) and since it has a lot of side stones they worry about each time they bend it that it will stress the stone settings and make them more prone to fall out. They told me to keep the resizing to as little as possible because it increases the chances of losing stones.
I finally couldn't wait any longer and missed wearing it so I went back and dropped it off at my jeweler. They did a nice job resizing it from a 10 to a 7. I hope I don't have to go any smaller. They also took out all the stones and re-plated/polished the ring and polished the stones and repaired the setting slightly because it was getting loose. It looks like a brand new ring now and I am very pleased. I have to say though, when she handed it to me I thought THERE IS NO WAY ITS GOING TO FIT!!
Moral of the story though, wait AS LONG AS YOU CAN to resize them because it can be pricey and hard on the jewelry but wearing a guard is not comfortable and only works for a little while. You might even consider getting a small silver or gold replacement wedding ring to wear in the meantime and just put them away safely? It'd be terrible to lose one of your rings because it slipped off!

I don't like wearing mine now either because it's irritating that they float around on my fingers. My 20th anniversary ring I wear on the finger next to the ring finger. It's white gold too so I'm glad Jen posted about what her jeweler said.
I tried on some fashion jewelry this weekend and I'm in a size 7 too. It's so weird the places we gained and lost weight!

This is just my two cents, but you all may want to check into Pawn Shops for having your rings sized, if you have one local. Our jeweler charges $8.00 to size down so to pay anything over $20 is insane, let alone $150, what are they coating the ring with??? It is not gold, pretty sure it is rhodium..white gold rings need to be treated about once a year, not when they are sized, and most people never even have them rhodiumed.
This may be a cheaper alternative, instead of paying jewelry store prices!
