Nasty Skin Rash
Well, Patty, after all that talk last week about skin issues...I think you cursed me!
I woke up this morning and my belly button was itchy. I went to scratch it and Oh Gross... a red, inflamed, sticky mess. This is the first skin irritation and I know why it happened. My stomach skin is hanging pretty hard, and because of that my belly button is squished on itself and closed. And, last night I slept on my tummy almost all night so I'm sure that didn't help much.
I cleaned the nasty mess out and put some Campho Phenique in it. I went to work out and made sure that I dried it well after showering, but it's really bugging me right now.
I called my primary doc and he's out this week. I think I'm going to call my surgeon to get the rash documented for my latter plastic battle.
Any suggestions to help it get better quicker.

Take pictures Kathy! Get this documented for plastics in the future.
If you use a powder with cornstarch or even straight cornstarch it will help. I have a medicated cream the DR had given me when I was super heavy. Also keeping a soft cloth in between the folds of skin will help, I've used an old cloth diaper cut into strips.
I've even used a hair dryer on low in the past to make sure the areas in the folds were dry.
Good luck, they can be very painful.

I recommend nystain powder you have to get it from the doc.
I have slept in shorts the last few days(we had guests) and i didnt feel right wearing a nighty.
So with me sleeping on my stomach and the shorts i had a nasty belly button rash put the nystain on this a.m. and its gone now..
It looked like a small stop sign.lol
I hope it gets better for ya...

Sorry about the that - these things are sometimes contageous, but I didn't know they could travel over the internet now - LOL.
If it is a yeasty rash, my PCP told me that the cornstarch just feeds the yeast and makes it worse. "Sticky" says to me that it it is yeasty - at least mine are. I had good results with the Monistat that some recommended. I'm using it when needed until I see the PCP.

I still swear by the 3B cream I found. It works great as a preventative. You can find it online.
The other thing that works well for me is the Rx Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream from the doctor. It clears up all skin irritations for me, yeasty, sticky, sore, etc. This cream also helps with the itching and pain.
Hope you heal soon with little pain as possible.
