Hello Everyone,
Had my 1 month post op appointment and it was suggested I find panni support.   With such a large one, where the heck do you find support?  She scared the crap out of me suggesting it would hang to my knees ... what have I done to this body.. sigh.   Any ways, if anyone knows of support for the very large person, I would appreciate the information.

I used Spanx or something like it..... Check it out here: http://www.barenecessities.com/SPANX_brand_44.htm

Or what about checking maternity shops, lots of pregnant women have to use some sort of support during the last few months/weeks.... either a maternity girdle or binder type thingy, even some maternity underwear have support built in.....

I have heard good things about the Dr. Rey's line of body shapers.  They sell them on HSN.com.  I was at an Obesity Help event a few weeks ago, and lots of people there were raving about them!

Thank you to you both.    I will check them out.   Just trying to figure out the sizing as I'm unsure how you measure this big thing... yikes.

Bonnie, I started out at 371 and have about the same amount of weight to lose as you do to reach my doctor's goal.

I've worn something from the very beginning.  I bought a pair of spanx after my 6 week check up and they are very expensive and with how rapidly we lose weight, unless you are rolling in the dough, I would recommend a less expensive alternative until you've lost about 100 pounds.  I've gone through 3 pairs of spanx so far due to weight loss.

I would recommend going to one of the discount stores like TJ maxx or Ross or Marshalls because they do have plus sized support garments and try them on before you buy them because the sizing is ridiculously varying from one manufacturer to another.  I did try the Target brand of spanx, but those tore up very quickly.

Like I said, I have worn support undergarments from the beginning.  I prefer to wear one that goes down mid-thigh and comes up under my breast to get that upper tummy flabby skin in check.  I was very surprised that my panni is as small as it is now (ok that gives an unrealistic view of my panni) but my problem area is my thighs and hips.  I can tame that panni with a body shaper but the thighs and hip are a little tougher to keep in line.

Good luck and remember, at this stage, don't spend a lot until you've lost about 80-100 pounds or you'll go broke!

Thank you Kathy, I'm just wondering how you figure out sizes... I live in Canada, so don't have stores like that, so I'm going to search on line to see what I can find.    I do appreciate your wisdom, and will find something... or throw that panni over my shoulder ;)

Bonnie
who thinks panni's kind of suck... or wi**** would suck up maybe....

I wear dr. rey's shapewear (available at sears.com),  right now im just wearing a binder (post gall bladder surgery), but in another week, i think i'll probably start wearing shapewear daily, it just feels better without all that $)#(*& hanging down onto the top of my legs!  Good luck Bonnie!

I didn't know you had GB surgery!  Did you post that on the board?  How's the healing?

Kathy - thanks for asking, kinda slow in the healing, the enormous panni pulling on the stitches in my belly button are just kinda slow.  The abdominal binder i'm wearing is helping alot!  plus it helps with the back pain i'm starting to get (from low panni hangage!).  thanks so much for asking, BTW, i love your avatar, you look great!  lys
