Patty you know I thought you were post op.  I didn't realize you are still on the path to surgery.  I hope that you make the right decision regarding which procedure.  I know I thought it was an easy decision at first then had my panicky moment toward surgery date.

I chose RNY for the dumping too. I HATE THROWING UP! I wanted toi learn to eat correctly by PUNISHMENT! It sounds weird but it works for me

I know people DO get the Lap band at "SMO" weights but I didn't want to deal with the fills and slower loss. I only had those two as my insurance covered options as well.

Take your time deciding guys, do what you think is best regardless of what shrinks and PCP's say. I was told all sorts of incorrect info by a shrink and my PCP was completly non supportive (all 98 pounds of her!) so it was just me and my surgeon making this choice. The two most informed people in my opinion

Start: 487 lbs (8/07) Lost 81 lbs pre op on South Beach. 406 lbs at surgery (6/08). 179 post op, by 2011. I  lost 308 lbs. Gained 98 while pregnant (2012-13) lost all but 25. My goal is to be 179 again!
