Immunization Gig Update
I spent all day yesterday held captive in a room full of disgruntled grantees who are extremely unhappy with our application process for this coming funding cycle. This after getting up at 4 AM to shovel 9 inches of snow from our driveway has left me kind of floppy and tired today. Oh, and I managed to come to work this morning without my cell phone, my coat, and my appointment book. Oy.
But I digress..
I had a call on Monday regarding the vaccine gig that came up a few weeks ago. They are very impressed with my application and want to interview me on Monday (which just happens to be my birthday). Rather than call them from my veal pen, I went down to the third floor and had a brief chat with one of the panelists, who was very personable.
So, we'll see how it goes. Is a job interview on one's birthday a good omen? Also, do you think I can actually make it home today with only 40% functioning brain capacity?

Kix, you are so damn funny!! I love hearing about life from the veal pen...though I know it's not nearly as funny from your point of view. Coming to work without the cell, coat and appt. book? Woman after my own heart!!! Especially in Colorado weather!
Yes, I say job interview on your birthday is a very good oman! I'd tell them that if they don't hire you, they must at least give you a cake and sing to you!
Thanks for the chuckle....I SOOOOOO need it today.

Well, I'm pretty sure whatever we got up here was much worse in the Springs! We did have folks who made it from the Springs yesterday, and even one dedicated grant applicant who came up from Cortez! Cortez! Made me feel guilty about whining.
Have you been outside today? Compared to yesterday, it's practically the tropics at 40+ degrees.

We didn't have nearly as much snow...but we did have the typical sheet of ice underneath everything. DD's school was closed, but I think we would have been fine with a 2-hour delay.
Yes, it's very nice compared to yesterday...not sure of the temp, but no need to be bundled up like yesterday morning.
I'm from Nebraska where everything is pretty much flat. I can deal with loads of snow and ice if the road is flat. BUT throw even a small hill into the mix and I'm a mess. When it is icy, I have alternate routes planned out to avoid as many inclines as possible. How people deal living in the mountains, I have no idea. My nightmare is going down an incline on ice and having to stop at the bottom and then going up an incline and having my tires spin - no traction and sliding backwards. OMG!!! But give me flat roads and heck, worse thing would be flying into the ditch - THAT I can handle!!! LOL

Yay good luck! if you get it, can my husband have your first job?
I am so sick of the job hunt. He has one (bad low-paying) job starting next week and an interview for a better job tomorrow that wouldn't start until Jan but pays better, is more interesting, and has room for growth. Here's hoping!
I think a birthday interview is a good omen, and I think you will get it because you are uber-qualified.
Brrrr snow. It dropped from 80 to 30 here yesterday with snow and ice possibilities. Talk about weird, I was wearing shorts!
