I'm being tested even more

Not sure what I've done but boy oh boy what a stressful week this has been.

Last night after going out for my brother's birthday (which was fun and we all had a  nice time), I got home and opened the mail.

I had had a mammogram done last week and opened the letter they send with the results. For the first time since I've been having them done, way more than 15 years, I was told I needed to contact my DR and they recommended additional testing, of an ultrasound and special view mammogram be done.

I can handle everything else going on in my life, but this on top of it all?

I was very lucky in the fact that I called this morning and some additional appointments had just opened up. Hubby is going with me to Pasadena Friday morning at 6:45AM. I guess the best news is they got me in fast and the Radiologist will talk to us and let us know what they find on Friday, so no waiting forever.

Please send more good thoughts my way, I really can use them right now. All I want to do is cry today, and  here I thought I've been dealing with things rather well up to this point.

Big hugs for you and always for your mom!!!!

Not that it may help but I had a bit of mammogram humor a few weeks ago.  I, too, had to go back in for additional testing after my doctor found a suspicious bump.  When the radiologist compared this mammogram to one five years ago, he said, "Wow! You've lost about half your breast tissue.  That's amazing!" BTW, we had talked about my WLS and loss.  I quipped back with, "Yeah, half as full, but twice as long!!"  He turned red and said he wouldn't comment on that.... LOL

I'll be thinking of you!

Seriously, cry it out sweetie. Take the afternoon off and do something for yourself *big hug*

I'm glad you got a fast appointment so you don't have to stew with this too long before you find out that maybe its nothing.

Best wishes *and another hug*

Jan, I wil think good thoughts, but I'm not worried for you just yet.

When I had my last boobogram, the tech told me that sometimes techs have problems properly fitting the sagging floppy boobage properly on the plate and then you get shadows that can be misread.  When she did mine, she took extra time plumping them up just like you'd fluff a pillow.
She was so careful that I felt confident my boobogram would be accurate.

It could be a shadow or something caused by floppy boobage, so let's not climb to the top of the panic ladder until we have to.

Healthy boobs, yah!  Rah, Jan's boobs!

Kix

 Janet,
When I had my mammo after the weight loss, and before the breast lift, I was told that it was not unusual to see more shadows in my much less dense breasts and that some of the fat loss and extra long breasts could cause a shadow or something to look like something that it wasn't.  Also, when I had one done in October after the breast lift, I was warned that it could trigger an additional look due to the changes noted in my breasts and the scar tissue.  I guess that I'm trying to reassure you that there could be reasons for a re look that really isn't an issue.

I will be praying for you!

Hugs,

Jennie
