update.. Jan. doc visit

  ok so i went to doc yesterday.. had my last pre-op class... was all bout the surgery an scars an time in op an hospital... downer #1.. i gained 5lbs..   back up to 412lbs now....so not happy bout that.. downer #2 found out all the surgeons are booked uptill March sometime... have an apppointment to meet with one of 2 surgeons that i chose... on a first available basis...an also be put on a cancelation list incase someone else backs out or postpones.. then i can get an earlier date...  i've decided on open gastric bypass.. so for now all i know is i will be meeting with nut. an surgeon on Feb. 9th

Sorry you have to wait, but believe me the time will fly by, especially when you start all your preopt testing. You didn't mention, are you on any diet before surgery. My surgeon required me to lose 10% before scheduling a surgery date. I was alittle short , but she scheduled me anyway.
I was 417 at the time of surgery and was able to have my laperscopily (sp) Are you sure you must have it open?
Just do what the doctors tell you and you will do great..

 ive been on a partial liquid diet since july...B-shake L-meal D-shake..shakes are body fortress whey protien from wal-mart.. lost 10% but now im a few lbs over that goal.. but doc said it might be jus****er weight cuz time of month..im hopin thats all it is... ive decided to do the open for a few reasons.. one i like the 2 surgeons an they specilize in open.. an two.. it seems to me more hands on.. an 3 i plan on having a certain plastics procedure when they will use that incision scar to remove the excess skin a couple years later..  thank you for the kind encouraging words.. it means alot...

I just came from our support group meeting tonight and they are now booking into April!!! I thought it was bad that I had to wait 6 weeks from approval to surgery, but I couldn't imagine 4 months.  But Kelly's right, time does fly by.  It helps to put the surgery into perspective and almost get your head cleared out!  Good luck!

Congrats on making it this far... you will have your surgery date before you know it.  Use the time to prepare yourself more, and keep coming here for support.  Hopefully you will get a date very soon!!!

P.S.  Don't worry about the 5#, you can probably have that off again before you know it!!!

Good luck with everything, time will fly by. Just stick to the dr.s orders as best you can and you should be fine.
