Exercise?

Check out your local YMCA.  That's where I work and workout.  They are less stressful than a regular gym, and offer all kinds of services to the community.  They are also very big into water aerobics and not threatening!

Good luck and let us know what you decide to do for exercise.  The important thing is to MOVE

Hi,

I walked... A LOT!!!  I really didn't have much energy to do anything else for the first 2 weeks.  I was also able to walk anywhere!!  I walked outside, I walked the halls of my apartment building, and walked the big box stores!!  (just don't walk the grocery store).  It was especially helpful to push one of the shopping carts just after surgery, sorta gave me a little support along the way.

Once I was given the OK to start exercising, I jumped right in at the gym.  I used the eliptial and bike mostly, but have since added some others.  I use the weight machines, I think I started using them about 1 month out from surgery.  I use some DVD's at home also, when I can't get to the gym!  This probably sounds sort of dorky, but I really like the Richard Simmons dancing to the oldies DVD, gets you moving really good; and there are bigger people on them!!

Good luck

Caroline
