Yea this last week i exercise to the beat of the  band and lost only 1 lb. Lost more not exercising. im 3 months out and have lost 66 lbs and i am very thankful. Just was soooo surprised all that exercise did nothing for me. I got on tread mill 2 x daily and walked in gym 4 x and walked over  1/2 mile faithfully.......kathy

First of all, good for you in beginning a new habit last week.

You body goes through tremendous changes following the surgery.  There could be a myriad of explanations as to why you only lost a pound last week.  You may have sweat more last week and did not increase your fluid intake to counteract that and your body is retaining water.

While it's not likely that you would have built 2 pounds of muscle last week, but that is also a consideration that you need to think about.  Muscle weighs more than fat, but muscle burns more calories and keeps your metabolism burining at a higher level.  So muscle is good.

Whatever you do, keep up the exercise.  Your body will thank you for it and it will help with some of the hanging skin issues.  I'd hate to see what my body would look like had I not started exercising at 3 weeks post-op.

When we first start exercising our muscles retain fluids.  It will level out before long.  Keep up the good work.  Loris
