Malodorous because there is something smelly somewhere in my apartment and I haven't found it. It comes and goes but it reminds me of a very over-ripe banana. Blech. I am not going to be pleased when I do find it. That or I'm crazy and/or about to have a seizure.
Speaking of crazy, my cat is pulling all the hair out of the TIP of his tail. Its bald for about 2cm and looks really disturbing. A hairless tail is surprisingly unpleasant looking. There are no sores or anything on it, and it is broken at the tip but its been that way for about 8 years. I am giving it another day or two but he's probably going to the vet. I don't know if maybe he got bit by something or dragged his tail in something unpleasant (maybe in the catbox?) or what but I am perplexed to say the least. He doesn't seem upset, in fact he's been more playful and friendly than usual. He doesn't seem sick either. Very strange.
Here's my Monday food plan (its not a very good plan)
B - I am eating a pear right now and in 2 hours when the taco stand on campus opens I will get an egg, bacon, and cheese burrito and eat the middle out of it
L - leftovers - I made a really simplified stroganoff last night with ground beef, mushrooms, onions, ff sour cream, beef broth, garlic, and seasoning (worchestershire, garlic, tabasco, cracked pepper)- I served it over whole grain pasta for Ryan and I ate it over canned kidney beans. It was really really good. I was not expecting it to be! I am having some of the leftovers over beans again today.
D - 100cal English muffin with a turkey sausage patty and cheese. Sliced tomatoes.
S - V-8
S - 2 prunes (because I actually really like prunes, who knew?)

Yes I like the individually wrapped ones best, very juicy and easy to chew thoroughly. Sometimes the drier ones are a lot of effort.

They do have some iron, and also seem to increase the absorption of iron from other sources, possibly because of their vitamin C. Prunes are also a great source of potassium, which can be a problem post-op... among many other nutrients.
Generally most doctors don't recommend injesting dried fruit because its high in sugar, calorically dense, and relatively difficult for the new pouch to digest, but since prunes are a great source of fiber and nutrients they were allowable on my plan after six months (I think). Besides, if its that good for you AND gets you through a craving for sweets, how bad can it be?
The only other dried fruits I (rarely) eat are figs, also because of fiber. I have dumped on raisins and I haven't really tried anything else because they are so sugary and dense and because I dump on fruit sugars much more than processed sugars (which is weird, btw, most people say the opposite). Its possible I dump equally on both I've just run across it more with fruit because I've always had plenty of fruit in my diet.
