OT Just have to vent

It has not been a good weekend here.  Friday night, my sister came home from work at 11pm, to find a fire in her house.  Luckily no people were hurt, her kids were at the grandparents house.  One dog is fine, the other dog is in doggy ICU, and not sure if she is going to make it.  My sister basically lost everything in her master bedroom, and the entire house is full of dirt/soot and smoke smell.  Her master bedroom had about 3 inches of water in it.  Not sure if anything in the house will be slavagable or not. 

The fire department said the fire most likely started at the furnace somehow, which cause the ho****er heater to boil over, which ultimately limited the fire.  We have a lot of work ahead of us to help her.   We are basically stuck waiting until monday when the insurance adjuster will be there, until then we can't remove anything. 

We did get some of the kids clothes out, to try to wash some things.  We went today and got them a few new things, and helped my sister to get a few clothes too.  She basically had the clothes & shoes she was wearing and thats it. 

Thanks guys... just had to vent.

Great that you are near to be able to help her and her family...  wonderful that noone was hurt.
Hope all goes well with insurance on Monday.

I am so sorry to hear that.  That has got to be such a traumatic experience for them.

I know our local red cross has assistance for fire victims.  YOu may want to look in to it.
