Probably a dumb question, but....

Is there any way around the 6 month weight loss program? Or is there any way to make it go by faster, or has anyone ever had their doc work with them so that they didnt have to wait the actual 6 months??? Just curious! THANKS!!

BUT REALLY YOU WANT TO DO IT THIS WAY BECAUSE IT GIVES YOU TIME TO FULLY EVALUATE YOUR DECISION FOR SURGERY AND IT ALSO GIVES YOUR DOCTOR A FIGHTING CHANCE TO SHOW YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY THAT YOUR SERIOUS ABOUT THIS. PLUS-ONCE THE PROCESS STARTS-TIME WILL FLY BUY SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FAST-YOU LL SEE. SO UNTIL THEN KEEP BLOGGING SO THAT I  CAN BE A PEST TO YOU-YOU LL MAKE IT I KNOW YOU WILL BUDDY!

LOL!!!  Is that supposed to be you slapping me!!!???? How funny! Yeah I am in my 2nd month as of tomorrow. And you are right, time is flying for me! Man I just can't wait until I have a date!!! LOL! Thanks for answering!

Well...there's no magic button you can push but it really does go fast. I was very frsutrated and just plain pissed off when I found out I had to do a 6 mo supervised diet as well as weight management classes....I've been dieting for years and I know how to do it! But I am SO glad I had that 6 mo to spend here on OH, learning from everyone. Not only the trials and tribulations that are to come but how different people handled those challenges. The kind of mindset I needed to make this a success for me. When my surgery date finally got here I was as prepared as I could get. All my questions had been answered, I knew the why's about vitamins and proteins, and was raring to go. There have still been surprises these last 3 weeks, some things there's just no way to understand until you actually experience it. Like how just 1oz of anything will fill you up!

So please have patience and relish these time you're foced to take. You'll be so much better prepared than those who get their surgery quickly without the time to learn about life after WLS.

Waiting sucks doesnt it?  I know, I had to wait as well, but I had to wait to lose about 80lbs..no time limit or anything. I was mad mad mad...but I thought to myself..what have I got to lose? 
I have no real advice for you, I just wanted you to know that there was someone that could empathise with you about the waiting game.  Everything about it sucks.
