Bathrom Scales?
Hi Sis Georgie,
I feel you on the scale thing.....I have a bathroon scale that only goes to 330lbs and that was fine LAST YEAR
, but since I have gained about 35lbs all it says is
ERROR
and I saw in the JCPenny catalog a scale that weighs up to 380lbs, but it cost like $200.
No way was I going to buy this scale unless it talked and gave weight lose tips
So I am still searching for the perfect scale. And I tried those sites that Amy put on her posting and that scale looks good for the price.
By the way, Amy if you are reading this, I want to place a bid for the talking scale, but it won't let me register to bid, any tips.
Anywho, I am going to try again and place a bid for the talking scale, if I can't get in a bid, I guess I have to try another one.

25 days 2 go....
....woohoo
I just ordered the 550 scale!!!!!
I have a scale that goes to 330 but that is light years away for me... I am sooo excited that I am going to have a scale that will work for me at home... now I either have to go to my surgeon's office (he has two offices and only one has a scale that will weigh me... that is BAD for a bariatric surgeon!!!!!) I think I am going to give him the info on the 550 and at least they could have a scale at his smaller office to weight ALOT more people!!!! The other place I can weigh is at the hospital fitness center and that is where I have been going for about two years to weigh but it is a little awkward to walk in just to weigh and walk out. So, this is a very good thing for me to get a scale that will work at home.. by the time I get home from surgery I should have my very own big girl scale waiting for me!!!!

Wow ~ I'm so excited to think I might be able to find a scale to weigh on! ??? (Sad, huh?) But you know what I mean. I haven't "known" what I weighed since 383#. I'm guessing about 425 now? But who knows.
I'm wondering, not only am I "superobese", but my legs go out from the knees down (knockkneed), so I am wondering if the base of these 440 scales are wider that the "average" scale? I have a DIFFICULT time getting my feet anywhere NEAR each other, to try to stand on one of those 12" wide scale bases.
Thanks for any help with this!!
At my weight loss support group they bought two identical scales...nice ones...not cheap. You stand on one scale with one foot and then you put the other foot on the other scale...add up the totals and that is your weight. A cheaper alternative than a scale that can weigh someone who is 400 lbs plus...I bet those scales are way expensive. Sandy in Tucson
The scale I bought was the one recommended by Tonya but I got it on ebay for a little cheaper than the site she recommended (same brand of scale). Just got to abay and search for "550 scale" it was 49.53 and with shipping it came out to 63.73. That is about the same price as I paid for one several years back at Costco that only goes to 330.
I am so excited to get the scale. I am having surgery on Tuesday so I hope it is here by the time I get home from the hospital on Thursday or Friday. I also bought small fridges today for both my hubby and I to put in our offices to keep a supply of things like milk to make protein shakes, LF string cheese, yogurt, and leftovers after you open things like a an of soup or chili... He had surgery June 28 so we have kind-of figured out how we are supposed to eat post-op and it would be easier to just keep a fridge stocked in our offices instead of packing a lunch every day. They are supposed to arrive on Friday too so I will have all kinds of coming home goodies when I return from surgery... gotta' love Mr. Brown!!!!!
