WHAT THE &^%%@^*##!!

Where the heck have you people been??? When I first joined OH in November I asked where were the people over 50BMI and I was told yada, yada, yada. You can fill in the blanks. It is so good to meet all of you. I am Robin, 47, BMI of 69 (no comments please) and I am having DS surgery on Monday August 1st. So now that I have found you all I may not be able to visit here again for a couple of weeks. I'm having an open procedure so I'll be in the hospital for 5 days. But I'll be back. We have issues that I need to discuss. I'll be back. Robin3-2-1 Switch--3 days and counting.

Robin, I'm wishing you well on your surgery! I know you must be very excited to be able to get this done. I was so excited. I had open and was recovering in no time, just make sure to get as active as you can. You will do great! Amy

Hey, my BMI was 75 the day I had my DS. I too had an open DS, and just recently I had a hernia repair done lap---and I have to say, the hernia repair hurt as bad or worse than the open DS did. Once you get out of bed that very first time, things will start getting better and better.

Robin, I just came to this board for the first time because of a link that was placed on the VA board. I have been wondering the same thing tho.. that there should be a place for folks who have special issues with WLS due to their high BMI... heck, thinking about having a 50 BMI makes me salivate.. mine is currently 77. My all time high was 83. For me to get to a 50 I still have to lose 162 pounds, so, I will qualify for this board for quite some time!!!!!! Patti 3 day ride to my surgery
