S L O WWWWW Losing
It is depressing to see only 20lbs loss in 8 weeks. Especially when most people that I have read that are my size (445lbs+) usually lose atleast a pound a day. That was how my sister lost. So I figured I could lose that fast also. but I am retaining fluid still, I thought that would be all over with by now. This messageboard may be just what I need.
I was in your same situation and started off losing very slow. I remember telling my surgeon that the surgery was not working. He assured me that it would. My body was in starvaton mode and was fighting to keep my weight at the weight it was use to. As I continued to meet my protein and water requirements eventually the weight just started coming off. Hang in there ... get your required water and protein in and move as much as possible. It's really going to happen.
Spud,
I am pr-op so I hesitate to write but my husband had surgery June 28 and already went thru one week where he lost one pound for the week. He was drinking about 80 ounces of water and eating about 60 grams of protein. The surgeon told him to up both and when he did, the weight started coming off quicker. You need the water and protein to lose and when you are at the weight that you and I are at, we are going to need even more. I know it is hard to get it in but sip sip sip and only go for really protein packed foods.
I am scared that I am going to be one of the SLOOOOOW losers as well since I have always had to fight to get a pound off.
Good luck!
